Pre- and At-Conference Workshops – General Information Pre- and At-Conference Workshops offer in-depth exploration of specific topics within the nine private club management competency areas. They are designed to continue the tradition of developing the most comprehensive programs ever offered by CMI, combined with the commitment to prepare managers for certification. As is the case each year, every effort has been made to provide a workshop faculty from the very best educators and industry leaders available. We believe we have assembled a select group of highly acclaimed professionals from the hospitality industry (many presenting at Conference for the first time!). Don’t miss this opportunity to receive valuable education while earning as many as 24 CMI credits and fulfilling two workshop requirements toward certification. Registration for Pre- and At-Conference Workshops A registration form with the fee schedule for the Conference Workshops can be found here. Fees include workbook materials, continental breakfast and morning and afternoon breaks (excluding The Bicycle Chautauqua). Lunch is included with the Yacht Club Workshop and the Wine Society Workshop and breakfast and lunch is included with the Master Club Symposium Workshop. Additional registration forms may be photocopied or obtained from the CMAA National Headquarters. Please note: Registration for the Conference Workshops is separate from World Conference Registration, but may be done simultaneously. Participants are limited to one workshop per day. Each workshop has its own fee. Please note: Class space is limited! Registrations will be processed in the order in which they are received and only with full payment. Payments should be mailed to: Club Managers Association of America IMPORTANT: Fax registrations may be sent to (703) 739-0124 (with credit card payments only). Do not duplicate registrations by faxing and sending a hard copy to the CMAA lockbox. Double charges could be incurred. Early registrations will be confirmed by mail. Telephone or fax will confirm all other registrations. Workshop registrations will be available on site, if space permits. All persons registering on site MUST pay for the workshop prior to entering the class. Non-members who join CMAA within one year of attending a workshop are entitled to be reimbursed the difference between the member and non-member fees. Schedule All of the Pre- and At-Conference Workshops will begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. and end at approximately 4:00 p.m. The Wine & Food Strategies Workshop will be from 12:30 – 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 3, 2008. Refunds/Cancellations The registration policy for education programs requires payment by check or processed credit card at the time of registration. Cancellations of registrations will be accepted with no penalty until December 1, 2007. Cancellations made between December 1, 2007, and January 15, 2008, will be subject to a $100 penalty per registration. No refunds will be given and no transfers will be allowed after 5:00 p.m. on January 15, 2008. All cancellations must be in writing. Tax Deduction Education expenses incurred to maintain or improve skills required by an individual in his or her employment are tax deductible. Education expenses include tuition, books, local transportation and travel and meals and lodging while away from home when the trip is primarily to obtain education (Treasury Regulation 1.162-5). Program Changes CMI reserves the right to require a minimum attendance at any program and to make changes in workshop faculties and content material. CMI pledges its support and cooperation in making every session a measurable success. Your understanding is appreciated. Education Credits Full attendance and successful completion of a CMI-sponsored workshop will earn the participant six CMI Education credits. Education credits will not be awarded if a participant misses any part of a workshop. The CMAA Education Department will award Association Activity credits to those individuals who fully attend the workshop but do not pass the exam. Certification Exam The Certification Review Course will be offered in Orlando from Sunday, January 27 – Thursday, January 31, 2008, and the Certification Examination will be given on Friday, February 1, 2008.
