The Interim Management Service (IMS) is designed to assist clubs that are in need of immediate temporary management assistance.  The Career Services Department at the National Headquarters publishes an online listing which contains the names and qualifications of those Retired CMAA members who wish to and are available to fulfill the various requirements and needs of a club.

An Interim Manager will manage the club during whatever period the respective club desires (usually no less than two months, not to exceed six months).  During this period, the well-qualified Interim Manager can advise and consult with the board on policies and past management practices in preparation for the search of the new club manager.  The Interim Manager can assist the Search Committee whether or not a search firm is employed.  After two or three months of club directing, no one will know better than the Interim Manager what type of manager would best fit the requirements of the club.  A carefully selected Interim Manager can serve the club better for less expense than the consultant who spends weeks there.

When considering temporary employment of the Interim Manager, your club needs to become aware of the Interim Manager’s housing and salary needs, as well as travel expenses incurred during the management term.
