What a journey 2007 has been for CMAA and for me as your president!
Before I began my official term, I paid the customary visit in January
to National Headquarters in Alexandria, VA, where I met with our
CEO, Jim Singerling, CCM CEC, Kathi Driggs, our COO, and all of our
staff to begin planning for my year as president.
Next, it was off to Anaheim for the 2007 World
Conference on Club Management and our first ever Golf Industry
Show, which was a spectacular success for CMAA. As with any major
undertaking, there were some kinks to be ironed out. Over the course
of the year, the board and staff used member suggestions and experiences
to identify areas for improvement and will continue to work with
our presenting partners, the Golf Course Superintendents Association
of America and the Golf Course Owners Association of America, on
solutions for optimizing the club manager’s experience at
future shows.
