Teri N. Seabrook, CCM, John's Island Club

John's Island Club needed a very thorough and detailed Hurricane Preparedness Plan. A plan was developed that involved all departments and areas of the Club. When there is a threat of hurricane or tropical storm department heads immediately know their responsibilities and duties. The Plan is simple in the form of a checklist, so details cannot be overlooked. Preparations run smoothly and methodically - even when life threatening pressure is on.

Because it has increased driving safety awareness, the Driving Rodeo has reduced backing and parallel parking accidents by 20% from the previous year and overall vehicle accidents were reduced by an equal number. Seat belt usage by Club employees driving company vehicles has increased substantially, as has use of turn signals.

The Rodeo also identified which empires required more training and skill development, and it is now mandatory for all new hires who are expected to operate club vehicles on the job.
