Michael Krause, Admiral's Cove

The Club at Admirals's Cove invited four local designers to renovate one of the Club's suites. Each designer chose a different suite and donated everything necessary for the renovation. The designers were competing for the contract to renovate the Club's remaining guest rooms. As a result of the project, the club has four, distinctive suites at no cost to the Club or its members.
John D. Hightower, The Peninsula Golf & Country Club

We fought and won to do the golf couse renovation nine holes at a time - an estimated $8.8 million dollar project without an assessment. We were determined to renovate the golf course nine holes at a time, just as we had renovated the Clubhouse one half at a time. With the Clubhouse we had made a promise to our Members not to miss a meal during the total renovation of the Clubhouse (and we didn't miss a meal!). We were also determined to provde golf during the entire golf course renovation. A splinter group of Members who opposed the idea of nine and nine forced a special ballot of the Membership to reconsider the nine and nine concept.
