off of opening and closing procedures was developed
to assist the multiple personnel responsible for
locking the building up different nights of the week. Consistency
can be a challenge when dealing with lock up procedures,
which is why this has worked so well in writing and
available for reference.
Implementation: The information
is available to all personnel responsible for lock
up procedures and ensures uniformity and regularity
in locking up, which protects the club and its property. |

Club: Farmington Country
Club
Description: Farmington’s
House Maintenance department uses Microsoft Outlook
reminders to ensure proper maintenance of fire extinguishers,
refrigerators, emergency lights, HVAC system, and
other recurring tasks. By using this feature,
paper record keeping has been eliminated.
Implementation: Scheduled
maintenance tasks automatically pop up when staff
login to the email software. Completed tasks
are stored and new tasks are automatically scheduled. Proper
maintenance of club infrastructure reduced downtime
and reduces total cost of operation. The Club
is kept safe and in proper condition so members and
guests will not notice a thing. |

Description: By receiving Board Approval,
our assets within the clubhouse can now be protected. Our
failing roof has allowed considerable internal damage
and now plans are moving forward for a new for installation.
Implementation: Due to the thorough presentation
to members of the Board, with the emphasis of the
urgent need, a once denied consideration is not approved! |

Club: Farmington Country Club
Description: Farmington’s House Maintenance
Department created a light bulb directory to reduce
time involved in the simple task of changing a blown
light bulb. Farmington’s Clubhouse is
approximately 100,000 square feet and has hundreds
of different light fixtures. The directory
includes pictures and descriptions of all of the
light bulbs with its assigned number.
Implementation: When a bulb needs replacement,
non-maintenance staff provides the corresponding
umber in their work order. Once the order is
received, House Maintenance is prepared to replace
the correct type of bulb. The light bulb directory
allows for faster response to and saves labor hours,
thus lowering overall maintenance costs to members. The
directory also ensures that the members’ Club
is well maintained. |

Club: The Country Club of Virginia
Description: Trash Be Gone – We built
a counter to enclose the trash can beside the beverage
area. This is more aesthetically pleasing and
prevents splashing or spills on the floor. When
the trash is full, it can be removed through the
cabinet door. |
