tot he traditions of a Mexican Christmas as well
as sampling homemade tamales and traditional hot
punch.
Implementation: The idea
was implemented with the help of the club secretary,
a translator, and Latin members of the house keeping

Name: Mary Elizabeth Sullivan
Club: Granite Club
Description: There as been a growing need
for additional pools in the aquatics section, however
member surveys revealed a 50:50 split in members
desire for an indoor or outdoor pool complex. In
2001, the aquatics manager came across an article
discussing the trend of retractable roof swimming
facilities as a solution for divided membership needs.
Implementation: An architectural firm was
hired to source and implement the structure and in
2006 the vision became a reality. The retractable
roof features seventeen separate panels constructed
of glass and aluminum that slide open to 75%. Sliding
doors and opening glass walls surround the structure
which open fully, providing a complete outdoor feeling
during the summer months. Two new pools were
added to the existing two pool facility. |

Name: Gregory
Webb, CCM
Club: The Kansas City Country
Club
Description: When applicants
submit a resume, we have them complete a 'Resume
Addendum.' This addendum asks all of the legal
questions. It also contains the must be signed
section which is our assurance that they are telling
the truth and if we ever find out otherwise we can
terminate. It also contains all of the other
legally required disclaimers.
Implementation: Club attorneys
and attorneys at CMAA sessions have told us never
to talk to a candidate if they have not first completed
an application and signed the legal section. Taking
that to heart, we started doing this. We found
that for a person with a resume the process was somewhat
humiliating and really started their relationship
with the cub in a bad way. |

Name: J. Brent Tartamella
Club: The Westmoor Club

at a reduced rate more amenable to our year round

benefits; developing our facility’s protocol
and member services year round, troubleshooting equipment
and supply challenges year round, opening up the
club to the community that built it, and opening
up the club to the community that built it.
Implementation: In the fall we advertise and
hold a few open house days so that potential winter
members can see the facility and ask questions about
eh winter and year round membership. We require
a simple application form to be complete, with supporting
instructions of rules and regulations. |

Name: Randy Ruder, CCM
Club: Beach Point Club
Description: Offering housing to employees
can often be challenging. Prior to anyone moving
onto property they are required to sign off on a
third floor rules and regulations sheet. The
information contained within is important for both
the clubs protection as well as the employees. The
sheet has eliminated problems and misunderstandings
as the rules are clearly spelled out.
Implementation: The membership is not directly
