Name: Stephen
M. Wilson
Club: The Los Angeles Country Club
Description: For the past two years, the Club
has taken complete control of its monthly bulletin – with
the entire job of designing done in-house. The
results are a more sleek and up-to-date publication
that garners rave reviews from members every month. By
doing all the design work in house, we have been
able to incorporate more timely information from
tournaments and Club events, and the money saved
versus hiring a professional designer was put towards
the cost of printing in full color. Another
great thing about the in-house design, as opposed
to printing “masters” on an annual basis,
we can now change the cover photo monthly to reflect
the many beautiful locations around the Club’s
grounds.
Implementation: Members are thrilled with
the new full-color publication. We recently
sent an email survey out to members, and overwhelmingly
positive comments came back. People tell us
that they now read the bulletin “cover to cover” because
it is so much more appealing. What more could
we ask for! |

Name: Philip
R. Kiester
Club: Farmington Country
Club
Description: Farmington redesigned
its Club Circle newsletter to attract member interest
and promote club events. The full color format
that is attractive, interesting, and easy to read. The
previous design, implemented in 1995, was printed
on off white paper in black and green ink with black
and white photography. The new design is printed
on white paper with full color stretching past the
edge of the paper.
