Name:  Tyler White, Tilly Bateman

School:  WCU

Description:  Creation of shoe boxes for needy children in third world countries.  Build boxes filled with toys, candy, hygiene items, etc.  This charity event was implemented by WCU CMAA to give back to those who are needy around Christmas time.

General Reactions:   Our Chapter responded very well.  We created and gave 12 boxes.  This idea is a national project and other chapters can assist by going to the website www.samaritanspure.org/occ.

Name:  Elizabeth Longstreet, Larry Harte

School:  Cornell University

Description:  In order to build public relations, our chapter focused on three things – getting involved in our community, getting involved in our school and getting involved in the CMAA national organization.

General Reactions:   Our chapter has been enthusiastic about getting our name out there.  Every chapter can get involved in the community, their school, and CMAA national.

Name:  Kimberly Kozar, Denene Davidovich

School:  Cal Poly Pomona

Description:  Our idea was to join with a sorority on campus (Chi Omega) and conduct a philanthropy event for the “make-a-wish” foundation.  We implemented this by describing the steps made necessary to implement our idea and displaying actual tools used (i.e. letter and thank you notes).

General Reactions:   This philanthropy event excited our members immensely, not only because of the community service.  But the relation with a Greek organization on campus.  Other chapters can use this idea as inspiration to partner with other organizations on their campuses.
