Mother’s
Day is always a sell-out event at the Club
and so the marketing team decided to find
a way to promote Father’s Day, which
is typically not well-attended. A contest
was designed such that a junior or juvenile
member could win brunch for four on Father’s
Day by writing a paragraph on “Why
their dad is the best dad.”

of the “old-time” soda shop was
featured at the Centennial July 4th event,
with cherry Cokes and fresh limeades served
courtside during the tennis round-robin for
adults and children of all ages. This event
kicked off our year-long campaign to celebrate
CCV’s Centennial in 2008. The centennial

“Mom-N-Me Gingerbread tea” was created for mothers, grandmothers,
guests, and pre-school aged children. This function was designed for the age
group sometimes denied by events, camps, and school age activities. The participants
entered this specialized event with numerous on-going activities and plenty of
holiday helpers to allow grown up visiting time. |

This event
is a great family event that offers something
for every age. What began as just a buffet
dinner and Halloween Bingo game has become
a scary haunted house for the older kids,
a fun house for the younger kids, and crafts,
games, a hayride, and buffet dinner for all.
This event accommodates and appeals to the
growing number of families in our membership.
Revenues and attendance have increased by
over 400% in just four years.

The New Year’s
Extravaganza was introduced in 2006 in response
do dwindling numbers attending the traditional
New Year’s Eve Dinner Dance. The concept
was patterned after the “First Night” events
that are celebrated in many U.S. cities on
New Year’s Eve. In addition, the “family
inclusive” event mirrored the strategic
vision and mission of Carmel Country Club.
2006 saw 550 attendees and this year the
number topped 700. Event participation was
a far cry from the 110 in 2003, 75 in 2004,
and 55 in 2005. |

For several
years, The Westmoor Club has hosted a cocktail
party during Nantucket’s Christmas
Stroll, the first weekend in December. Our
goal over the last few years is the increase
the attendances. This year, the Club decided
to create a Boutique do Noel, during
Stroll Weekend. This event was open to our
members as well as their guests. “Reacquaint
with your fellow members while sipping on
mulled wine and ‘strolling’ the
dining room, where vendors display their
merchandise for your conveniences of easy
gift-giving.”

Ansley’s
Annual Fourth of July celebration has always
been one of the clubs premier summer events.
It not only entertains 1200+ members and
guests, the fireworks also are enjoyed by
local neighborhoods. In 2007, the club had
two helicopters fly in from the Georgia National
Guard. Members were able to see the helicopters
up-close throughout the day.
