The Travel
and Dining Auction is an excellent way of
raising money in a way that also improves
connections with club managers and benefits
the student chapter as a whole. The items
to be auctioned off include items donated
by clubs across the United States, and the
only way to get these is to network. From
here you also get to network with other students
and individuals in the hospitality industry,
with a night of great food and hospitality
items. All the proceeds go to fund scholarships
as well as travel to the World Conference
on Club Management and the National Student
Conference on Club Management.

The idea
was implemented because we needed to raise
funds for our chapter to go to the world
conference. The raffle as implemented by
distributing a letter to general managers
of clubs in the western New York area and
requesting them to donate items. The items
were then picked-up from the clubs and made
into two baskets and raffled off at the Club
Chef’s Holiday Table. |

The Cornell
Chapter hosted its first ever fundraiser
golf outing in an effort to raise funds for
both charity and our student chapter members
that are attending conference. The outing
grossed $11,000 and resulted in $6,000 in
profit. |

USC CMAA
was in need to raise money, FAST! The fundraising
committee introduced the idea to host bake
sales. USC CMAA raised a quick $150.00 from
two bake sales. The chapter volunteered to
help with the Carolinas Chapter Raintree
Student Tournament, and generated more than
$2000.00, which helped send eighteen students
to conference. The holiday cookie sale was
an idea submitted by a USC CMAA member. |

In October
of 2007 we ran a golf tournament at Harrisburg
Country Club. Throughout November and December
we hosted Ice Cream night and Bowling night.
Both were a lot of fun and helped to pay
for conference and traveling expenses. The
silent auction will take place in April. |

Fundraising
activities are the main source of funds for
our club. We use funds to help students subsidize
costs for conference and to allow more opportunities
to grow our club. The golf tournament is
not only a fundraiser, but an enjoyable social
experience. |

We
designed the poster to coincide with our
menu theme. We really wanted to show how
proud our chapter I to be able to host
BMI. Also, we are proud to coordinate every
aspect of the Taste and Tour ourselves. |
