The Club Foundation

The Club Foundation, the only 501(c)(3) charitable organization for the private club industry, was established by CMAA in 1988. The mission of The Club Foundation is to financially support the professional development of club managers through education, training and research initiatives

In order to accomplish this goal, the Foundation has developed its Scholarship and Grant Program, which targets the following five funding areas:

  • Student scholarships and grants;
  • Faculty grants and internships;
  • Manager scholarships and grants;
  • Chapter grants; and
  • industry grants.
The successful completion of The Club Foundation’s Campaign for Excellence, which ran from 1992 until 1998, provided the initial $3 million to be used to support the professional development of club managers. The Club Foundation is now looking ahead to the future and, through the Campaign to Promote Excellence … Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow, an additional $4.5 million will be raised for educational purposes that will directly impact the profession of club management. At the completion of this campaign, the Foundation will be able to provide additional professional development programs to club managers that will benefit the entire club industry.
