In 2003, the Texas Lone Star Chapter participated in the Clubs Collecting for Communities Campaign by collecting food, toiletries, paper and cleaning supplies for the Genesis Center in Kauffman, Texas. The chapter also donated a computer to the group. The center is a temporary home/shelter for battered women and children. This was the first year of participation for the chapter, but it was such a rewarding experience, the board wants to continue with this program.

TLSC board member Ray DeTullio, CCM, and past president Sally Burns Rambo, CCM, presented the donations to Frank Austin, minister and administrator at the center; Dr. Clayton Gantreaux (president of the Board of Directors) and Peggy Price (founding member of the shelter).

Many thanks to Chistina Toups, CCM, for providing this image.
