The Club Foundation Benefit Drawing

The Club Foundation will once again be holding a benefit drawing to raise funds for the Scholarship and Grant Program. This year, Jonas Software is generously donating the benefit drawing prize. This incredible gift will be announced shortly. Many thanks to Jonas Software for its sponsorship. Tickets will be available for purchase prior to and during the Conference. The Club Foundation Event and Live Auction

After an engaging week of learning, networking and visiting exhibitors, join The Club Foundation for the final social event on Friday, February 12, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. This year’s live auction will have delectable delights, dancing and a wonderful selection of items on which you may bid. Items available for both live and silent auction will be hand selected to encourage your involvement and support of your industry through The Club Foundation. Tickets purchased as part of your Conference registration are $150 per person. Register early on your Conference Registration Form to participate in this enjoyable event. The Club Foundation Silent Auctions

The Club Foundation will have both online and silent auctions set up for bidding in the Member Services Pavilion beginning Tuesday, February 9. For more information please visit www.clubfoundation.org.

CMAA International Wine Society Wine Auctions

Wine Auction PixHundreds of bottles of wine await your bid at the International Wine Society Annual Silent and Live Wine Auctions. Don’t miss this unparalleled opportunity to add to your wine cellar, enjoy some competitive camaraderie with your peers and support your industry.

Past auctions have raised more than $360,000 to benefit The Club Foundation. Be sure to mark your calendar for this event.

A special preview for Wine Society Members only will take place on Tuesday, February 9, from 4:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. Join your fellow Wine Society members in a tasting, and bid on specially selected premium lots.

The Silent Auction will be open to all Conference attendees and guests for bidding on Wednesday, February 10. Please visit the auction registration desk to obtain your official bidding number for both the Silent and Live Auctions.

The Live Auction will take place on Wednesday, February 10, at 6:45 p.m., and will feature highly sought-after bottles of wine in fast and furious fun.

The Club Foundation Run With the Presidents

Please join CMAA President Michael Leemhuis, CCM, CCE, on a 5K "run for fun" (or just "walk and talk") in San Diego, Thursday, February 11, at 6:30 a.m. sharp. Encourage your family, friends and colleagues to join you in this charity event for a morning of exercise, fresh air and fun. Proceeds from the event will benefit Tee It Up for the Troops and The Club Foundation. Tee It Up for the Troops is a non-profit organization created to help support the fallen and disabled members of our Armed Forces and their families.

All participants will receive a "CF Run With the Presidents" t-shirt, and refreshments will be served at the start/finish line. The registration fee is $30 per person. Grab your sneakers – this is a great way to get your day started and benefit two great causes. Bring your entries to San Diego and drop them off in the Member Services Pavilion by 8:00 a.m., Monday, February 8, for judging. If you choose not to hand-carry your entries, please mail them so they arrive between January 25 and February 5, 2010, to:

CMAA On-Site Voting

Vote for your Association’s leadership in the 2010 election. Active, Retired-Active, Continuation-Active and qualified Honorary members who have pre-registered for Conference will receive their voter cards with their registration packet materials. Eligible voters will need to present this card to cast their ballots in the election (duplicate cards will not be issued). On-site registrants considered eligible voters must visit the Credentials Verification Desk and present a valid membership card in order to receive a voter card. In the event you must leave San Diego before the polls open, you may cast your ballot for CMAA’s Board of Directors at the Credentials Verification Desk instead.

Visit Premier Club Services® (PCS) at Conference to learn how a subscription can assist you in meeting the challenges of club management. Career Opportunity Showcase

2010 Career Opportunity Showcase Form

The Career Opportunity Showcase is the place at Conference to find the next entry-level managers and interns for your club. This job fair is designed for club managers and student members to network and meet to discuss prospective employment. In 2009, more than 300 CMAA student members attended the Career Opportunity Showcase in search of jobs in the club industry.

Students see the showcase as a major highlight of their Conference experience and attend with the prospect of finding employment and networking with qualified club managers. Tables will be available for managers and students to conduct interviews.

Come out and meet the Association’s student members at the Career Opportunity Showcase on Wednesday, February 10.

Registration for clubs is not required but is strongly encouraged. Clubs that pre-register will be placed on an attendee listing distributed to the student membership.

CMAA Career Services Center

Job Boards

The CMAA Career Services Center provides job boards at Conference that will list available management positions. All position levels will be posted – from general manager/COO to internships. Managers, club boards, search committees and search firms may submit listings to be posted immediately and free of charge for all Conference attendees to view. This service allows managers and students who are looking for club management opportunities to leave their résumés for a club representative or search firm.

Résumé Critiques

Conference attendees may submit their résumés at the on-site Career Services Center for review. Participants will leave Conference with suggestions and tips to revise and improve their résumés.

Mock Video Interviewing

Industry professionals will interview Conference attendees on video, then interviewees can take the DVD home to review their skills. All CMAA members may schedule time slots and mock interview appointments before and during Conference on a first-come, first-served basis.

Coaching Sessions

CMAA coaches Kevin MacDonald and Shelley MacDougall will provide one-on-one coaching sessions. Look for coaching session and mock interview sign-up forms before Conference in CMAA publications and on ClubCareers at www.clubcareers.org.
