Wine Society Board of Managers Job Descriptions

Bylaw Statement about Position:

Section III – Shall be responsible for the selection of all foods served at Society dinners. The Kitchenmaster shall maintain close liaison with the Cellarmaster in the planning of all Society dinners. The Kitchenmaster is intended to succeed the Cellarmaster.

Tenure of Office:

Officers of the Wine Society as described above shall be elected for one-year terms and, during such terms, shall also be members of the Board of Managers. The Kitchenmaster shall serve for one (1) year or until his/her successor is elected. The Kitchenmaster is intended to succeed the Cellarmaster. Each officer’s year in office shall coincide with the Society’s fiscal year.

Position Summary:

Responsible for the selection of all foods served for IWS dinners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the selection of all foods served for Society dinners. Receives direction from the Cellarmaster in the planning of the IWS Annual Dinner at the World Conference.

• Other duties as assigned by the IWS Host from time to time.

Programming Responsibilities:

• Works in conjunction with the Cellarmaster to plan, market and execute the IWS Annual Dinner at the CMAA World Conference. Duties include site selection, travel logistics, theme, décor, entertainment, menus and industry donations.

• Supports the activities and programming of the IWS to all CMAA managers.

• Supports the marketing and production of the IWS newsletter, Wine Society News.

• Works with assigned IWS Chapter Representatives to enhance local IWS programming.

• Fulfills obligations of the IWS during the Annual Conference.

• Completes assignments as given by the IWS Host in a timely and fiscally appropriate manner.

• Serves as directed by the Host on various committees or subcommittees as may be needed from time to time.

• Supports the mission of the IWS to the wine industry in general.
