WELCOME TO WASHINGTON STATE!

Washington wine country is home to 150 wineries and more than 20,000 acres of premium Vinifera grapevines. We welcome you to the Evergreen State!

The vintners and growers of Washington State are honored that the Club Managers
Association of America
has decided to visit us! Much preparation has gone into your visit.

Washington State grows much of America's apples, hops, mint, shallots and potatoes and
has been growing wine grapes and making wine since the late 1850's. Washington wine
country is growing by leaps and bounds. Our long-range planting projects have Vinifera
acreage exceeding 30,000 acres by the end of next summer. Rapid growth and booming
harvest quantities are one thing but the focus here is on quality. ALL Washington state
vintners and growers belong to the Washington Wine Commission and visitors often remark
on the spirit of cooperation and sharing that exists amongst our wine growers.

If there is anything we can do during the tour or afterwards to make this visit more
educational or successful for you, please do not hesitate to let us know. Thanks for making W
ashington wine country a stop on your annual tour. Please come back soon!
See you in July, 2001!

Regards,
  Steve Burns
