Using my past experience, I manage and observe the Club to assure the Club remains problem free and is ready for the new GM, once the search process is complete, to allow the new GM to hit the ground running.

I personally enjoy the day to day requirements of the Interim GM, finding it an excellent break from retirement life, meaning I spend all of my time at the Club rather than off site. I consider the interim period a vacation from my normal retirement lifestyle and enjoy this interim period.

Worked closely with Board to determine daily operational needs to assure membership needs and desires were met and satisfied. Managed and worked closely with Senior Management to bring about and continue a smooth daily operation, meeting all of the membership desires for a smooth and continuous well balanced day to day operation. Tracked and logged daily operational happenings of significance, to pass on to the new GM to allow for a smooth transition. Met weekly with the President of the Board to keep the Board fully in touch with the operation of the Club.

Members - 500, Annual Income - $2.4 Mil

Began Interim GM work April 1, 2016, just prior to the Club’s Annual River Hills USTA Women’s Tennis $25,000 Challenge event. Meet with the Board of Directors and the senior Staff to begin my tenure during the GM Search process. In my review of the operation, discovered many Club maintenance issues, along with a serious issue with cash flow. Worked with the Board, specifically the President to determine a direction to handle the maintenance issues, while working with the President and the Senior Staff to determine the issues causing the serious cash flow problem. Accounts Receivable was determined to be the main issue, with a large amount of AR being in arrears. With the Board, I agreed to spend the majority of my time working to bring the outstanding Accounts Receivable back into current status prior the arrival of the new GM. For sixty days, that was my goal and I was successful at bringing over $100,000 back into the in operational cash flow. This allowed the new GM to begin with a much better operating position.

Began Interim GM work November 1, 2015 after meeting with the Search Committee and the Board of Directors. I worked with the senior Staff to begin my tenure during the GM Search process. I immediately reviewed the financial records for the prior five years to learn the current financial state of the Club, budgeted expectations, etc. Then I met with each department manager separately, to introduce myself and learn their thoughts and concerns about the club. With the Senior Staff, we built a plan to conduct the day to day business to assure the membership could continue to enjoy and attend the club at the desired level. Working with the membership, staff and Board was my pleasure, making the interim period with the club much easier and more enjoyable. My main task was to help the department managers exhibit more of their talents to give the members more to enjoy about their club. I spent time with each department manager to bring them up to par on budgeting, getting each ready to begin work with the new GM and prepared to build the new operations budget.
