Golf Facilities

  • 18 hole course, par 72, designed by Jack Nicklaus
• 18 hole course, par 72, designed by Jack Nicklaus Our Jack Nicklaus Signature designed 18 hole, championship course is 6,825 yards skillfully crafted into the hills of Tennessee. The par 72 layout has five sets of tees to challenge every level of ability. There is also a practice facility with a putting green, driving range, and chipping greens. A full program of golf activities is provided.

Tennis Facilities

  • 12 Hard courts
The tennis facility consists of a spacious newly-renovated clubhouse with locker rooms, a lounge area with a big screen TV and comfortable seating, a refreshment area and fully stocked pros shop. Spectators may sit and view play on the four indoor climate controlled tennis courts. The outdoor area includes six soft courts (2 Hydrogrid Courts and 4 HarTru with overhead irrigation) and two hard courts. All courts are lighted for evening play.

Swimming Facilities

New swimming pool to open May 2018. Our family friendly pool includes a zero entry side, competition lanes, and slide. Renovated facilities include pool grille and new dining area with full-service bar. Richland has an active swim team and activities throughout the summer.

Other Athletic Facilities

Opening in the Summer of 2018, our new state-of-the-art two-story fitness center will include cardio and strength training equipment, two fitness classrooms, personal training sessions, retail area and beautiful views overlooking our pool and golf course.

Job Title

Assistant Fitness Director

Brief Job Description

The Assistant Fitness Director (AFD) will work closely with the Fitness Director to provide an exceptional fitness experiences for Richland Country Club members that safely and effectively help members achieve their fitness goals. The AFD must be able to create, update and modify fitness programs that appropriately meet the needs of the members.

Fitness Facility:

•  Assist in ensuring the safety of members and club property by determining when equipment or facilities are in need of repair and communicating to Fitness Director and Facilities Maintenance team in a timely manner.

•  Assist in ordering of supplies using the specific budget guidelines.

•   Provide backup support to cleaning crew and organization of fitness facility

•   Remain familiar and up to date on current fitness trends, fitness classes and training protocols

•  Responsible for monthly inventory data collection

•  Act as Manager on Duty when necessary

•  Oversight of development of monthly newsletter (Rumbler)

•   Assume other duties as assigned

Membership/Client Programing, Training and Assistance:

•  The Assistant Fitness Director will assist the Fitness Director in the daily management of all fitness programs, assessments and wellness educational programming.

•   Responsible for familiarizing members with the facility, maintaining a comfortable atmosphere for members and visitors, and motivating members that seek support.

•  Clear understanding and assessment of Par-Q forms

•   Create safe and effective exercise programs

•   Clear and in-depth knowledge of current fitness equipment in the fitness facility

Personal Training, Group Fitness and Instructors:

•   Recruitment, oversight and development of group fitness instructors

•  Coordinate group fitness instructors and class schedules

•  Assist with the oversight of independent contractor’s (outside trainers) client list and schedule

•   Keep accurate account of training participants and group class attendees

•  Assist with the oversight of independent contractor’s (outside trainers) client list and schedule

•  Ensure that group fitness instructors have a reserve back up to limit class cancelations

Candidate Qualifications

Additional Skills:

•  Clear understanding of golf and tennis related fitness trends

•   Basic computer skills

•   Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills

•   Ability to motivate and nurture others

•   Outwardly facing professional appearance

•   Confidence and desire to create new relationships quickly

Physical Activities Required:

•  Standing for long periods of time

•  Daily walking, lifting, bending, squatting, and reaching

•  Ability to do a personal training workout

•  Ability to lift at least 50 pounds

•  Flexibility to work early morning, evening, and weekend hours as necessary

Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration (LCR):

•  CPR/First Aid/AED

•  Active Personal Training certification from a nationally-recognized organization (i.e. ACSM)

•  Active Group Fitness certification from a nationally-recognized organization (i.e. ACE, AFAA)
