The club has hosted more USGA championships than any other golf course in America, and is home to some of history's greatest golf moments. The club is open year round, six days a week, and has a variety of dining facilities, including casual and formal dining rooms, outdoor terrace dining, private function rooms, and an all season pavilion.

Executive Sous Chef

Brief Job Description

Merion Golf Club is seeking a Full Time Executive Sous Chef. Responsibilities will include all a la carte menu engineering including wine dinner events, farm to table events and chef's table dinners as well as all food purchasing, and overseeing training for line cook staff.

This position requires a vast experience in a la carte dining and creativity in the area of menu engineering, food research, and creative plate design. This position will at times require executing buffets and other catered events.

Candidates should be professionals with drive and diplomacy, technical skills and a passion to produce great food under pressure. The Club has a reputation for the finest food in the Main Line area of Western Philadelphia suburbs. A significant in-season time commitment should be expected.

Candidate Qualifications

Essential skills & qualifications include:

  • 5+ years of progressive culinary experience in a leadership position.
  • Ability to organize workloads and meet time deadlines.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills desirable.
  • Experience with Microsoft software programs.
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions
  • Ability to multitask and handle stressful situations.
  • ServSafe certified

Educational Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associate’s Degree in culinary arts preferred
