Special Club Features

Rehoboth Beach Country Club was incorporated in 1925 and is the premier private club on the Delmarva Peninsula.  This "crown jewel" overlooks Rehoboth Bay in the friendly and seasonal beach town of Rehoboth Beach which is surrounded by other coastal beach towns. RBCC is situated within easy driving distance of the major east coast cities of Washington DC, Philadelphia, Wilmington, Baltimore and New York.  The club is open year round with approximately 40% of the Membership residing most of the year within the greater Rehoboth area and the remaining 60% typically using the club during the summer season and/or weekends throughout the year.  

This wonderful club offers its members a variety dining and sports activities while it's clubhouse is also a highly sought after location for weddings and other functions because of its spectacular views of the bay.

Club is open 6 days per week, 12 months per year.

Director of Food and Beverage

Brief Job Description

Responsible for all operations of Food & Beverage ensuring the highest standards possible and to exceed the memberships’ expectations. Responsible for the supervision of all Food & Beverage front of the House employees. 

  • Ensure member satisfaction with facilities and services.
  • Provide recognition and personal attention to members 
  • Train professional, friendly, service oriented staff to provide total customer satisfaction 
  • Adhere to and teach FOH policies and procedures.
  • Be fiscally responsible          
  • Hire, train and supervise all Food & Beverage staff ensuring the highest standard of service.
  • Oversee all dining areas to ensure smooth operations, quality products, and exemplary service.
  • Develop and maintain ongoing relationship with members through great follow through.
  • Establish and maintain a professional relationship with Executive Chef to ensure highest quality.
  • Coordinates planning and supervision of special events with Catering Manager and Executive Chef.
  • Ensures all bars are stocked, operating efficiently, liquor and supply inventory is maintained properly. 
  • Maintain a visible presence in the dining areas to ensure service excellence and member satisfaction.  
  • Address and resolve member complaints and suggestions.
  • Ensure all dining rooms and bars are always kept clean and communicate with maintenance or housekeeping on issues that need attention.
  • Monitor payroll and overtime and adjust staffing accordingly to circumvent uneeded overtime.
  • Monitor and conduct staff performance appraisals as per Club policy.
  • Maintain and update POS information and oversee that training in all appropriate software areas is performed.
  • Oversee a healthy and motivated work environment among supervisory staff.
  • Communicate with members, co-workers, management, staff, the general public, and others in a courteous and professional manner.           
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.
  • Respond promptly when returning telephone calls, emails, and text messages.
  • Act, dress, and behave in a professional manner to reflect a positive image of the Club.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Possess extensive knowledge of FOH operations and be able to genuinely lead people.
  • Ability to think and act clearly while maintaining a professional manner 
  • Ability to direct, council & motivate staff especially in busy times.
  • Understand & adhere to budgets while also teaching the same to reports.
  • Have excellent communications skills and enjoy conversing with others.
  • Must be able to multi-task and think quickly. 
  • Ability to analyze data and prepare reports.
  • Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to interact professionally and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, co-workers, members, and others.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while providing joy to many
  • Ability to be flexible while knowing that the rewards of success are great.
  • Ability to work long and unusual hours but also know how to enjoy time off.     
  • Must be proficient in Word, Excel, and POS systems while being able to teach others
  • Must smile and be happy while providing a fun environment for others to enjoy.
  • Must believe in teamwork while possessing loyalty and integrity in order to provide excellence daily.
  • Must be able to anticipate needs while being an excellent communicator.

Educational Requirements

Degree in Business, Hospitality Management or applicable trade school degree plus a minimum of 3 years experience as a Food & Beverage Manager in a fine club or any equivalent combination of related training and experience.
