Brief Job Description

Indian River Colony Club in Melbourne, Florida is seeking a motivated and well qualified Clubhouse Manager for our 1,200 member club. As the Club Manager, reporting directly to the General Manager, the incumbent supervises all personnel and activities that are required to purchase, receive, inventory, store, and serve food and beverages for Club members and to administer all other activities that are conducted at  both of our Clubhouse facilities.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Develops and maintains appropriate policies and procedures that will assure the physical facilities under his/her control will provide a safe and sanitary environment and the activities conducted therein, including the dining areas and the beverage service will be of a consistently high quality to encourage the maximum utilization of the dining facilities.
  • Develops and maintains detailed job descriptions for all the positions required to perform the essential functions of the Club's operations.
  • Interviews, employs, assigns, schedules and evaluates all staff members, as required, to develop and maintain an effective and efficient working team.
  • Develops standards of performance for each position and conducts training, as required, to assure all employees are qualified for their assigned duties.
  • Develops and promulgates appropriate controls and procedures for purchasing, receiving, inventorying, storing, and using the beverages and other supplies required to perform the assigned functions.
  • Supervises the staff to assure the established policies and procedures are followed for all assigned functions, to include time accounting and payroll requirements.
  • Assists in the planning and coordination of private parties and special club functions.
  • Develops, prices, and serves food and beverage items to encourage the membership to utilize the Club and that meet the budgetary requirements.  Controls all costs for food and beverage operations including labor, supplies, and equipment.
  • Develops and implements a fair and consistent system for making reservations and table assignments for routine and special activities and events that maximizes Club usage.
  • Provides appropriate security and maintenance for Club areas under his/her control and all supplies, equipment, and facilities contained therein.
  • Prepares the budget for the Club operations in accordance with the guidance provided by the General Manager.
  • Reports all new activities and menu changes to the General Manager prior to implementation.
  • Supervises shutter installation for the Club.
  • Is available for post disaster food operation as outlined in the Emergency Operating Procedure disaster manual.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the General Manager.

Educational Requirements

  • Hospitality degree or equivalent; CMAA/CAI/CCM designations
  • Five years of club management
  • Supervisory and administrative skills to include training, personnel evaluation, budget preparation, and ability to effectively manage costs and inventory.  Must be computer literate.  Jonas experience preferred.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of physical plant, preventative maintenance, and repair procedures
  • Banquet experience preferred
  • Hands on management style
  • Willing to accept nothing less than the highest of standards with an eye for detail.

$60,000.00 to $79,999.00
