Special Club Features

Lawrence Country Club was founded in 1914 and has approximately 450 members and generates revenue of $3 million per year.  LCC operates a full service clubhouse with formal dining and casual grill, swimming pool, tennis courts, and 18-hole championship golf course newly renovated in 2005.  LCC was host to the 2012 Big 12 Women’s Golf Championship. LCC has a rich history as the country club of choice for businesses and families in the Lawrence area, with past presidents including Forrest “Phog” Allen. LCC is recognized as a friendly, welcoming club with an engaged membership and staff known for providing exceptional service for members and guests.   

Lawrence Country Club is located in Lawrence, Kansas home of the University of Kansas and has a population of approximately 90,000. Lawrence boasts excellent schools and a small town charm with large city amenities, fine arts, athletic events, vibrant downtown, and wide range of entertainment offerings for all ages.

General Manager

Brief Job Description

The General Manager is responsible for general and administrative matters, management and execution of all Club events, buildings and clubhouse, pro shop and golf operations, all ground maintenance including the golf course, secretarial and accounting functions, supervision of pool and staff, and all food and beverage staff. The General Manager shall endeavor to maintain and improve the quality of the Club’s products and services, and the security and protection of the Club’s assets and facilities. They manage all club activities and the relationships between the club and its Board of Directors, members, guests, employees, community and industry.

Commensurate with their responsibilities and duties, the General Manager shall have authority to manage and administer Club operations in strict conformity and compliance with policies set forth by the Board, the Club’s By-Laws, and Club Policies. In general, they shall have authority to manage personnel and for technical administration for his/her designated areas of responsibility. They shall also be empowered to delegate to their staff such duties and responsibilities as they deem proper.

3-5 years of increasing responsibility in club management
