Brief Job Description

Job Summary:

Primarily responsible for supervising food and beverage related offerings of the Club with direct oversight for the service staff of all outlets such as the Gentlemen’s Grill and Ranch House (poolside casual dining restaurant).  While having primary responsibilities in the management of the daily food and beverage operation, the Assistant Manager will be given access to all operating departments of the Club as well as membership and continuing education in the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA).  During their time at the Club, the Assistant Manager will be able to plan and implement budgets, develop staffing guides and schedules, hire, train and supervise subordinates and, most importantly, embrace and engage the membership to insure that the needs, desires and expectations of Club members and guests are consistently exceeded.  This four year rotational program is designed to develop future Club Managers into leaders who will be prepared to assume a job of Clubhouse Manager once all competencies have been achieved.

  • A team builder who has a history of attracting, developing and retaining a high performance staff who, in turn, are able to be both  responsible and accountable to deliver service standards that exceed all member and guest expectations.
  • A proven “thought partner” to Director of Food & Beverage.  Having the ability to provide thoughtful, reasoned dialogue with the Director of Food & Beverage, as opposed to being simply a ‘good order taker’, is most appropriate and a key factor to long-term success at The Country Club at DC Ranch. 
  • An intuitive style resulting in a sincere and clearly engaged presence with Members, Guests and Staff.  Having the stamina, sensitivity and overall multi-tasking ability to manage and lead in this type of environment is critical.
  • Fundamental understanding of what constitutes a ‘premier club experience’.
  • Someone who is dedicated to not only to their personal success but also that of the Club. Be willing to challenge yourself and step outside of your comfort zone in order to gain the most knowledge possible.


Candidate Qualifications

General Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a Premier Private Club Preferred.    
  • Knowledgeable in “best practices” in top performing and high member satisfaction clubs, hotels or resorts around the country.
  • Strong food and beverage management skills with verifiable strengths in inspirational leadership and “people” skills.
  • Exceptionally strong communication and facilitation skills, both written and verbal, with the appropriate personal presence and style, desire and ability to interact effectively before diverse constituencies of members, staff, vendors and other people who are part of the success of The Country Club at DC Ranch. 
  • Personally capable and comfortable with technology and incorporates its use, as appropriate in his/her everyday role, while never losing sight of the need for ‘high touch’ relations with Members/Owners and Staff Members.

Educational Requirements

4-year Degree Required. Hospitality Degree Preffered.
