The Cavalier Golf & Yacht Club was established in 1928 in the resort town of Virginia Beach (Princess Anne County) and has operated continuously as a community social and recreation facility that includes 18 holes of golf, 6 Har-Tru tennis courts, 100 boat slips, fitness and, newly opened in the summer of 2019, a modern resort style pool and family center with a relaxed Café concept aptly named Osprey Point.
The Club’s staff cares for 700 plus active membership families with dining and support at the 35,000 square foot Clubhouse overlooking the Linkhorn Bay and new 10,000 square foot Family Center. Annual food and beverage revenues top out at $3 million with banquets and events contributing $1.3 million and a wholesale wine program that has grown to $430,000 per year.
The financial health of the Club is strong and debt and capital are funded through dues and operational efficiencies and typically delivers an additional surplus cash of over $200,000 a year toward cash reserves.
