Fawn Lake Country Club is Fredericksburg’s premier private club renowned for friendly and respectful service, highly knowledgeable staff, and a glorious golf course set among some of Virginia’s most spectacular countryside.  The club is the social hub of activity for a growing upscale gate community with over 1100 homes.  FLCC benefits from strong support from our neighbors and cooperation with the Fawn Lake Community Association.

After completing a major renovation to our Harbor Clubhouse in March of 2020, the club now offers multiple dining venues in one location.  FLCC is strong financially thanks to a fast growing club membership over the past 4 years.  The Club is primed for success for years to come.

Club is open 6 days per week, 12 months per year.

Director of Food & Beverage - Fawn Lake CC

The F&B Director's primary purpose is to assure all food and beverage operations and Member services are coordinated to exceed Member expectations, while achieving the Club's revenue and profit objectives. The benchmarks for a successful F&B Director are:

  1. Growth in Member usage and food and beverage revenues.
  2. The maintenance of all quality standards for service, production, cleanliness, and safety.
  3. Employee relations and staff development.
  4. Responsible for the direction, development, and training of all service personnel, to maintain a high level of service.
  5. Ensure that the Club adheres to the standards that have been set forth by the Board of Directors.
  6. Growth in Net Revenues from Restaurant & Event Operations.

Candidate Qualifications

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Maintain exceptional Member Relations by creating a quality experience through proper staffing, and club programming.
  2. Develop and direct successful implementation of Food & Beverage sales plans and operational budget.
  3. Identify opportunities for Member events and food and beverage services that satisfy on-going Member needs and implement to achieve revenue objectives.
  4. Ensure all expense control systems are in place to monitor all department expenses including payroll.
  5. Work with the Member committees to develop and implement Member activities and events.
  6. Communicate with Members on individual basis to ensure the Club is meeting their expectations.
  7. Works closely with Membership Director, Golf Course Superintendent, Head Golf Professional and Private Event Director to provide direction and input on all matters relating to F&B operations.
  8. Recruit, select and develop a qualified staff of Employees to understand the relationships between value, Member service and satisfaction and Member retention.
  9. Develop Employees for career advancement using Performance Review Systems, Cross Training, and Developmental Planning.
  10. Hire quality Employees. Ensure that pre-employment screening, background checks, and the interview process are properly completed. Administer appropriate compensation packages for Club Employees in conjunction with labor laws. Ensure appropriate on-boarding takes place.
  11. Create an excellent work environment, centered upon teamwork and mutual respect that is expected to focus upon Member Satisfaction while producing the Club's revenue objectives.
  12. Implement and effectively execute specific training programs timely and consistently to ensure Club staff is providing Members with quality service and product.
  13. Responsible for the scheduling and/or directing the scheduling of all service personnel and the budgeting of labor costs.
  14. Attend all Department Head staff meetings, Food & Beverage meetings and special training sessions when needed. Perform line-up daily going over the events of the day and Menu items.
  15. Ensure service recovery programs are in place, staff is properly training to execute and being properly utilized as set forth by management.

Educational Requirements

WORK EXPERIENCE:  5+ years in Club management or related field in Food & Beverage Industry.

EDUCATION:  Bachelor's Degree preferred.

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:  Food Handlers Certificate, Alcohol Safety, ABC Certification,

TRAINING:  Service Training, Alcohol Management.

PERFORMANCE STANDARDS:  Computer literacy required/Spreadsheet knowledge required. Computer skills, good communication skills, ability to be a strong leader.
