Brief Job Description

Responsible for overseeing a la carte dining venues in the manner most pleasing to members and their guests, mostly casual grille room dining. Assures a high standard of appearance, hospitality and service in personnel and cleanliness of dining venues. Supervises and trains service staff.

Job Tasks

Schedules personnel and plans room set-up based upon anticipated guest counts and client needs
Manages reservations and checks table reservation schedules
Greets members and guests at their table
Carefully supervises to help assure proper service; takes orders when necessary
Inspects dining ala carte employees to ensure that they are in proper and clean uniforms at all times
Hires, trains and supervises dining staff
Provides appropriate reports concerning daily sales, employee hours, schedules, pay rates, job changes, tip pools, etc.
Receives and handles complaints concerning food, beverages or service
Serves as liaison between the dining rooms and kitchen staffs
Assures that all side work is accomplished and all cleaning of equipment and storage areas is completed according to schedule
Directs pre-meal meetings with dining room personnel. Relays information and policy changes and briefs personnel
Assures the correct appearance, cleanliness and proper set-up of the dining rooms. Checks the maintenance of all equipment in the dining room and reports deficiencies
Makes suggestions about improvements in dining room procedures and layout
Assures that the dining room and other club areas are secure at the end of the business day
Maintains the guest dining room reservation system

Reports to Clubhouse Manager

Supervises Dining Room Staff

Candidate Qualifications

A minimum 2 years of experience as a Dining Room/ Grille Room Manager
Strong background in dining service training programs.
A natural leader leading a strong professional team.
A high energy professional with proven experience working in a fast-paced, high volume food & beverage setting.
Naturally outgoing, conversant, respectful, and diplomatic in matters of guest service and the handling of staff issues.
The ability to work closely with other departments, as necessary.
Superior communication skills.
