Charlotte Country Club (CCC) was founded in 1910 and is located four miles east of uptown Charlotte, in the historic Plaza-Midwood neighborhood. Charlotte Country Club is known as a top 20 private club in the United States and is a premier family centric country club that enjoys a wonderful staff and membership.  The 18-hole Donald Ross golf course was restored by architect Ron Prichard in 2009 and has received numerous accolades.  Charlotte Country Club has hosted four USGA championships: 1972 U.S. Men's Amateur, 2000 U.S. Senior Men's Amateur, 2010 U.S. Women's Amateur, and the 2018 USGA Men's Mid-Amateur.

We are expanding our Club by adding two new dining venues and are excited to add a Full-time exempt level Assistant Manager to our team!

Hours/Schedule:

Must be available mornings, days, weekends, and holidays.

Our team is responsible for upholding an “unparalleled country club experience” for our members and their guests through first impressions, kind, and attentive service throughout their visit, and always a fond farewell. We focus on personalized service, exercising our ability to create memorable experiences on a daily basis.

This is an exceptional opportunity for someone looking to join a dedicated team while working to mentor and develop our Service Team Member’s expertise in communication, adaptability, time management, and interpersonal skills.

General Description:

The Assistant Manager will be responsible for always ensuring and enhancing first class service to our Members and their guests. The Assistant Manager will work collaboratively with various food and beverage peers to oversee the day-to-day operations.  Primary responsibilities include training, mentoring, and leading service team members in a la carte dining, banquet, and seasonal pool operations.  

Essential Functions:

Daily

  • Planning, implementing, and maintaining of processes that will enhance the services, procedures, team dynamic and overall member satisfaction
  • Communicates member feedback, needs, requests, or complaints while providing “CCC Raving Fan” service
  • Formulates the daily line-ups for each service in conjunction with Assistant Managers (service, a la carte, and banquets)
  • Supports service team with set up, execution and breakdown of daily member experiences in a la carte dining and banquets 
  • Acts as a “situational leader” monitoring the quality and pace of service on the floor and assists where needed
  • Daily commitments to create a continuous teaching environment that focuses on staff timeliness, productivity, proper service, and other standards at CCC
  • Assists Assistant Managers with developing, implementing, enforcement, and evaluation of the service training program on a daily and weekly basis

Weekly

  • Assumes an active role in the hiring, training, and coaching of the service staff
  • Completes regular closing shifts and ensures the overall safety and preservation of the Club on a daily basis
  • Prepares closing report, including successes and defects from the evening
  • Attends F&B meetings, such as weekly Banquet meeting when it applies to rotational schedule

Monthly/Quarterly

  • Achieves budget goals through personal contributions as well as strong and competent departmental leadership
  • Seasonally oversees pool operations
  • Monitors and restocks inventory for all service items including supplies, china, silver, and glassware

Candidate Qualifications

Experience:

  • Prior serving experience in an upscale dining environment, with a strong track record of progression and growth
  • Must be honest, respectful, dedicated, ethical, caring, have a positive attitude and a spirit to serve
  • Must have excellent time-management skills, be detail-oriented, and have strong follow through skills
  • Must possess a proven track record of leading other talented individuals to successfully providing top level, personalized service to members and guests
  • Must be open to feedback; growth and development
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, employees, members, and general public

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 35 lbs., stand for long periods of time, and climb stairs daily
  • Constantly walks, stands, reaches, bends, lifts, carriers and stoops
  • Frequently washes hands
  • Indoor and outdoor – ability to tolerate all seasonal weather conditions

Must be able to handle a fast-paced, high-end, sophisticated environment

Educational Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • The Assistant Manager must possess exceptional verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and member service skills 
  • Intermediate computer application and proficiency including Microsoft OneNote, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
