Brief Job Description

The Hideout Golf Club and Resort is seeking a Director of Restaurants and Events with strong Catering Sales skills. Responsibilities will include overseeing his or her establishment's food and beverage operations, which encompass two restaurants, golf club dining and banquet operations. Always improving product and service quality levels while maximizing profits; forecasting and budgeting; and selecting, training, and developing employees.

In Adjunct, the Director of Restaurants and Events will improve controls, through department heads, payroll, and other operating expenses in this vertical. As an active member of executive team, He/She will hold periodic meetings with staff to review past and future performance and discuss general information concerning guest and employee relations.

Furthermore, the Director of Restaurants and Events will:

Be the primary contact for Catering Sales to optimize catering revenue through (1) maximizing catering opportunities consistent with the property's business plan; (2) accurately forecasting revenue and expenses, and (3) efficiently managing catering activities through coordination with clients and operational departments.

Candidate Qualifications

The Position will be tasked with the following duties, responsibilities, and assignments: Generate catering revenue consistent with the property's business plan; Achieve personal and hotel revenue goals; Prospect for new business using a wide variety of methods, including phone calls, outside sales calls, community functions, internet prospecting, supplier partnerships, trade journals, etc. Develop, implement, and consistently update catering sales action plans; Interact effectively with vendors, competitors, local community, catering associations and other hotel departments. (including Sales, Kitchen and Operations) to ensure guest satisfaction; Align catering serviceability to communicate effectively with the public and other employees. Monitors the progress of the planning and execution of each task that has to do with the event. Tries as much as possible to have a clear understanding of what the event is all about from the host i.e. how exactly he/she wants the event to be organized (taste of the client); Serves as a link between the event (actually the host of the event) and external bodies; Provides recruitment and training/coaching for the organizing committee for the purpose of an event; Development of general event management policies; Supervision of the production process of an event; Make sure that staff and work personnel at the event adhere to the management policies that were put in place to minimize hiccups during the course of the event.
