Special Club Features

About The Club: Introduced in 1903 by designer Henry Fownes, Oakmont Country Club has hosted more combined USGA and PGA championships than any other course in the U.S., including nine United States Opens (tenth scheduled for 2025), five U.S.  Amateurs (sixth in August of 2021), three PGA Championships, and two U.S. Women's Opens.  Oakmont remains perhaps the most difficult course in North America, with 210 deep bunkers (personified by the Church Pews), hard and slick greens that slope away from the player, and tight fairways requiring the utmost precision.  Golf Digest ranks Oakmont #5 in its most recent version of America's Top 100 courses.

Club is open 7 days per week, 10 months per year.

Dining Room Manager

Brief Job Description

We are seeking a full-time Dining Room Manager to join our team!  The Dining Room Manager leads the dining room staff to assure member and guest satisfaction standards are consistently attained.  Must have open availability, including evenings, weekends and holidays.  Competitive salary and benefits are offered. 

Job Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Receives and greets members and guests
  • Suggests and describes available appetizers, entrees, desserts, alcoholic beverages and wines to members and guests.
  • Coordinates food service between kitchen and service staff
  • Inspects all linens daily for proper appearance
  • Resolves member/guest complaints
  • Assures that all safety, accident and emergency policies and procedures are in place and consistency followed
  • Assures that revenue control procedures are continually followed
  • Inspects dining room to ensure proper maintenance, cleanliness and safety
  • Provides layout and design recommendations to applicable managers
  • Suggests dining room decoration for special themes
  • Assures that pre-opening cleaning tasks are assigned and completed as required
  • Manages the guest reservation system
  • Assists with service of food and beverages in outlets and for special functions when needed
  • Assists with table clearing and resetting as needed
  • Suggest when additional service supplies and small equipment are needed
  • Enforces established rules, regulations and policies
  • Maintains cigars, cigarettes and amenities for dining room
  • Assists in dining room inventory assessments
  • Suggestively sells daily special to all members and guests
  • Assists in training and mentoring food & beverage staff

Candidate Qualifications

Previous Dining Room Management Experience
