Membership and Marketing Director

Walnut Creek Country Club is a vibrant family club located in South Lyon Michigan.  We offer 27 holes of magnificent golf, driving range, short game facility, seasonal pool, tennis courts, two different dining options and a banquet facility. Our primary memberships are full Class A Golf, Social and Junior levels.  We offer a strong tennis program with emphasis on youth, swim team, golf instruction, leagues, tournaments, and an array of social events. The Club continues to invest in our facilities with $3,000,000.00 invested in the clubhouse and $3,000,000.00 in the golf course.

The right candidate will preferably have previous experience at a Country Club in a Membership role, experience in marketing and sales, strong interpersonal skills and enjoys working with people, excellent communications skills, experience in using social media to promote the Club, an ability to multitask, and have proficient computer skills.

Primary Duties:

  • Develop and implement membership growth strategy which would include sales and marketing to new members as well as retention of current members
  • Ensure membership offering is clearly presented through digital channels, during on-site orientation and other medians to reach potential members
  • Assist Membership Committee in enhancing orientation program (attend orientations, as needed)
  • Act as a primary contact for existing members
  • Provide feedback to General Manager from members to ensure that service is carried out across all departments to improve membership satisfaction
  • Take lead on membership communication, including newsletter and member e-mail announcements, and cadence of communication
  • Assist with member events, including recruiting members to attend events
  • Attend the Membership Committee meetings
  • Follow-up and mentoring of new members
  • Attend Staff Meetings
  • Create special touches, birthday announcements, anniversaries etc.
  • Work together with the club’s General Manager
  • No supervisory responsibilities
  • Maintain and strengthen database through Jonas club software and other CRM systems, if applicable

Candidate Qualifications

Prefer two year minimum at a Country Club as a Membership Director.

This position is considered full time.  Primary schedule will be Monday through Friday but can change during selling season and more relaxed during off season. Below is a summary of compensation:

  • Starting salary: $48,000.00-$52,000.00 based on experience   
  • Bonus Potential

  • $50,000 Life Insurance, LTD policy
  • One-week paid vacation after one year
