Special Club Features

Cherokee Town and Country Club, a dual clubhouse facility, located in Atlanta, Georgia, is a 65-year-old member-owned club with 2,500 members. The Town Club is located in the exclusive Buckhead area with its formal fine dining room, casual members dining room, and family-friendly dining room has banquet facilities including a ballroom seating 350, plus 8 private dining rooms. All dining outlets are serviced by one of the Southeast largest wine cellars of more than 22,000 bottles. Additionally, the Town Club offers 16 clay courts, 2 platform tennis courts, 3 pools, and a comprehensive Fitness Center. The Country Club is located in Sandy Springs next to the Chattahoochee River with its modern clubhouse house features 2 breathtaking golf courses designed by Tom Fazio and a top-rated Golf Shop with casual dining and a men's grill and 3 swimming pools. 

Club is open 6 days per week, 12 months per year.

Banquet Chef

Brief Job Description

Cherokee Town and Country Club is looking for our next Banquet Chef that genuinely loves food and the craft of cooking and is skilled at fostering a professional and positive kitchen environment.

A Day In the Life of a Banquet Chef:

  • Assumes the complete charge of the food operation in the absence of Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operation of the banquet operation. Responsible for overseeing 1st cooks position and employee meal.
  • Delegates tasks and duties to all banquet cooks.
  • Responsible that all food produced in the banquet department is met with the highest of standards to achieve high member satisfaction. Instrumental in achieving current foodservice goals and budgets.
  • Accountable for food and labor costs relating to banquets Requisitions needed foodstuffs; inspects portioning and garnishing of foods;
  • Supervises the preparation and service of banquets and receptions in conjunction with the Garde Manger Chef.
  • Communicates with banquet supervisors and captains to ensure timely service, proper buffet ware, and set-ups.

Candidate Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • A culinary degree or ACF equivalent is required
  • 6 years of Fine Dining, high volume, and banquet experience preferred.
  • Must have the ability to work all aspects of the kitchen at a high level
  • Serve safe certification is preferred, and/or has a sound understanding of sanitation practice

Salary: $60,000 - $68,000 based on experience

Reports to: Executive Chef
