The 600,00-square foot clubhouse is a small sity in and of itself, with 25 competitive sports, nearly 200 ongoing classes and activities, four restaurants, 22,000 members and a diverse offering of special events serving interests as varied as history, music, culinary, and fashion.

Reporting to the Facilities Director, the Housekeeping Services Manager is responsible for ensuring facilities are clean and adequately supplied with laundry products in accordance with club standards. Assists Facilities Director in providing membership with a safe, clean, efficient, cost effective and functional facility. Supports, promotes, directs and implements best sustainability practices where financially prudent. Responsible and accountable for department equipment and associated facilities, staff and coverage, operating and capital budgets, department organization, waste stream management, and financial results of departmental operations while aligning with the clubs goals, objectives, policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Administers all Laundry and Housekeeping Services department operations and activities in a manner that promotes sustainability, green cleaning and best practices, improves facility environments, and maintains cost control.
- Ensures the adequate supply of clean towels, uniforms, and linen. Maintains supplies, researches alternative products and processes. Maintains records of workloads and takes timely inventories for the Business Office. Working with the Physical Plant Manager, oversees equipment maintenance and repair of washers, dryers, ironers, boiler, heat recovery system, and laundry truck.
- Ensures all Housekeeping Services department functions are performed to meet and exceed MAC cleaning standards. Ensures the MAC facilities are clean and orderly in a timely and cost effective manner.
- Develops and manages department operating and capital budgets, including labor, materials, supplies and equipment. Plans equipment replacements and maintains a replacement schedule for capital planning purposes.
- Anticipates MAC needs and adjusts labor accordingly.
- Manages waste stream best practices through facility including recycling, composting and trash. Manages waste hauler contract and relations, including metrics relating to MAC material flow and cost efficiency.
- Collects, develops, and analyzes technical data relevant to department functions and budgets. Establishes continuous improvement goals and objectives by determining and maintaining department benchmarks relevant to MAC needs.
- Stays current with laundry and housekeeping business and technology trends, and utilizes continuing educational opportunities. Researches new laundry and housekeeping equipment, products and processes. Implements appropriate changes and makes recommendations for capital purchases and facility renovations to improve quality and productivity in a cost efficient manner. Develops and maintains best practices that support MAC Facilities Vision Statement and Strategic Plan Initiative. Supports and promotes the Facilities Department Mission Statement and Guiding Principles.
- Complies with all regulatory laws and MAC safety policies and procedures demonstrating safe work practices. Ensures independent contractors are knowledgeable of and adhere to MAC policies and Emergency Response procedures. Identifies and reports unsafe or hazardous work conditions. Reports all workplace injuries and illnesses to supervisor.
- Promotes the MAC Signature Service policy and demonstrates the importance of providing quality service to members.
- Attends and participates in general staff meetings, club training, Facilities Department meetings, and other meetings with club management.
- Cultivates, maintains and enhances interdepartmental relationships
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
ESSENTIAL TOOLS, EQUIPMENT, MACHINERY & VEHICLES
Essential job functions require the use of a computer and associated software, office equipment, laundry and housekeeping equipment, and other tools necessary in the daily execution of work pertinent to this position.
PHYSICIAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
Essential job functions require the ability to: lift, carry, push and pull up to 20 lbs; occasionally bend, squat, climb, twist, and crawl; reach above shoulders and grasp or squeeze objects; stand, walking or standing for extended periods of time, and enter into confined spaces or outdoors while exposed to weather conditions. Position also involves considerable keyboarding and sitting for extended periods of time. Must be willing and able to work extended hours and alternate times as necessary to accomplish responsibilities.

In an effort to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our facilities, we have implemented specific precautionary measures and processes for employees. Additionally, all members, guests & staff are required to wear face masks and to maintain appropriate physical distancing where possible. Beginning October 1, 2021, all MAC employees must be fully vaccinated or have been approved for a legal exception. Fully vaccinated is defined as two weeks following receiving the second dose of a two-dose or one dose of a single-dose COVID-19 vaccination.
