Facilities Maintenance Manager

Brief Job Description

Responsible for maintaining the facility and grounds in a safe and efficient manner by organizing and directing the daily operations of the facility maintenance staff and services.  Oversees and participates in the performance of a wide range of facilities maintenance and repair activities for the club. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Supervises daily maintenance, service and repair activities for all facility equipment including swimming pool equipment, boile3rs, elevators, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fixtures, furnishings, landscape, maintenance painting and all other aspects of the facility.
  2. Directly supervises and coordinates the day-to-day activities of the Day and Night Maintenance personnel, oversees the assignment and completion of maintenance work orders by staff, guides and assists staff with complex tasks and performs quality inspections of work.
  3. Places service calls and orders for parts and equipment necessary to maintain facilities operations.
  4. Assists with personnel management activities such as hiring, training and development, promotion, discipline and termination when warranted; conducts timely and measurable performance evaluations of Maintenance staff.  Provides regular and on-going feedback on job performance and nurtures a cohesive and productive team.
  5. Investigates and troubleshoots facility systems and coordinates resolutions where appropriate.
  6. Maintains maintenance records and information in the CMMS system. 
  7. Stays current and complies with club Human Resources policies and procedures.
  8. Updates and maintains department orientation and training manuals.
  9. Ensures Maintenance staff attends and participates in all required club and safety training as established by club and OSHA guidelines.  Evaluates and enforces safe work practices.
  10. Maintains consistent and positive leadership in the department.
  11. Supports, adopts and promotes club goals, policies, operation procedures and standards; leads by example.
  12. Attends general staff meetings and other meetings with club management. 
  13. Coordinates and participates in regular department meetings.
  14. Cultivates, maintains and enhances interdepartmental relationships.
  15. In association with the Facilities Director, conduct and annual assessment of facility to identify needed improvements and repairs.
  16. Communicates directly with staff via meeting, CMMS, telephone and computer email system to register facilities issues.
  17. Responsible for keeping Maintenance areas clean, safe and organized.

SECONDARY FUNCTIONS

  • Performs other tasks as assigned by Director.
  • Participates in all club related training courses.
