Food & Beverage Director

Brief Job Description

The food and beverage director is a key member of the Quail Creek Golf and Country Club management team and is directly responsible for the oversight of all food & beverage operations. This includes hiring, training, marketing, and supervising of all related food and beverage service and food production staff. The food and beverage director will apply all of their experience and knowledge to exceed our members’ expectations.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Delivers and promotes prompt, courteous and friendly service to all members, guests and employees.
  • Recruits and hires staff for operations.
  • Provide orientation and training of all new staff and ensures that professional development activities are regularly scheduled for experienced staff.
  • Schedules staff for all positions under his/her supervision due weekly on Thursday at 5:00pm.
  • Motivates and directs staff members on a daily basis.
  • Develop ongoing training programs.
  • Teach, coach, and develop our team through empowerment and provide direction.
  • Assists in preparing annual and monthly budgets for F&B operations.
  • Holds weekly manager meetings with pertinent content to drive our team for results.
  • Constantly improving operations and identifying solutions when presented with opportunities.
  • Monitors and takes corrective action as necessary to ensure budgeted sales and costs are maintained.
  • Consults with the Chef to ensure the highest level of member satisfaction at the best cost.
  • Ensures that all safety, sanitation, and required standards are consistently met.
  • Consistently implementing and maintaining systems to maintain high standards.

  • Helps plan and promote activities for dining operations including:

  • Coordinates with the Clubhouse Manager and Chef in the planning and development of menus.
  • Ensures that all legal requirements are met for clubhouse operations, including local laws pertaining to alcoholic beverages.
  • Greets guests and oversees overall service on a routine basis.
  • Monitors the ordering and receiving of products related to clubhouse operations.
  • Continually works to ensure correct handling procedures to minimize breakage and waste.
  • Handles member complaints and report all complaints to the General Manager.
  • Works with the Special Events to ensure event satisfaction.
  • Ensures function sheets are reviewed with the Chef and service staff weekly.
  • Efficiently execute marketing and menu design.
  • Review POS weekly.
  • Ensure Shift notes are entered daily via schedulefly to improve operations.
  • Hold pre-shift team meetings with relevant club information and skills refreshers.

Candidate Qualifications

  1. The candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  2. The candidate must have reliable transportation.
  3. Two or four-year degree from a Hospitality Management program or related field preferred.
  4. Minimum of three to five years of progressive management experience in the food and beverage industry, private country club experience a plus.
