DOL Responds to Requests for More H-2B Visas and DHS Announces Eligible 2022 Countries

As of September 30, US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) received enough petitions to exhaust the supply of 33,000 H-2B visas allocated for the first half of Fiscal Year 2022. This is nearly six weeks earlier than the date the allotment of visas was exhausted in the first half of FY2021. Immediately following this announcement, CMAA joined with allies on the H-2B Workforce Coalition to urge the Departments of Labor and Homeland Security to exercise their authority to release additional visas.
