Special Club Features

Horseshoe Bay Golf Club is a unique 18 year old private golf club positioned right in the heart of the historic Door Penninsula in beautiful northeastern Wisconsin.  Horseshoe Bay Golf Club offers golf, dining, swimming and other activities on a seasonal basis.  The membership of over 475 is active in all areas of the club and is diverse in its background as they come to us from all over teh country but all have strong ties to the Midwest.  We cater to all ages and have programs for everyone.  Horseshoe Bay Golf Club has annual gross revenues of over 3.75 million with Food & Beverage of more than 1 million.  The club is open 7 days per week form May through October and has limited dining in November and December.

Brief Job Description

Food & Beverage Intern:

The selected individual will oversee all entities of Food & Beverage.  A La Carte dining, beverage carts, beach club and banquets.  Working directly with the Restaurant Manager, he/she will be involved in the day to day operation of F&B as well as the internal management; inventories, scheduling, ordering, etc.  He/She should have an eye for detail and be visible and readily accessible to the membership and staff.  Job responsibilities will include assisting with monthly inventories, daily opening and closing procedures, updating menus, staffing schedules, supervising beverage cart/beach club staff, along with managing at least 4 dinner services throughout the course of the internship; giving the individual a hands on experience that will complement their education.

Banquet Intern:

The selected individual will be focused on the banquet side of Food & Beverage.  Working directly with the Director of F&B, he/she will be involved in the day to day operation of all F&B with the main focus being banquets.  He/she should have an eye for detail and ready to jump in to any event that comes their way; the individual will be responsible for creating BEO (Banquet Event Orders), linen orders, staff schedules, etc.  Job responsibilities include the above along with opening/closing events, being the point of contact for events, and managing at least 2 events throughout the course of the internship; giving the individual hands on experience that will complement their education.

Candidate Qualifications

Candidates must have previous Food & Beverage experience, (banquet intern must have previous banquet experience), take pride in their work, have the ability to multi-task, be self-motivated and have a passion for the club industry.  Candidates must be able to withstand prolonged standing, lifting and carrying of items up to 50 lbs, and are able to work without direct supervision at times. 

Educational Requirements

Candidates must be currently enrolled in a Hospitality Management, Hospitality Business, Hospitality & Tourism Management, Event Management or related program.  Recent graduated or upcoming graduates are welcome to apply.
