Special Club Features

Racquet Club is a neighborhood club located in Ann Arbor Hills, close to the University of Michigan Campus, downtown Ann Arbor and just 40 minutes from Detroit. Ann Arbor is a progressive city with lots of cultural and diverse activites for families.

Racquet Club is a private membership club, mostly seasonal with outdoor facilities only. We look to utilize the beautifuy campus and club ammenities to extend the season as long as possible. In 2017, the club opened with a large scale renovation of most of it's facilities. As a private club, we keep a static membership of 475 active family memberships, as well as senior, single and other memberships.

The club is a tennis and swim club, with a full offering of activities for children and adults during the summer months. The club is uniquet to the area by it's location, amenities and services. We pride ourselves on being a highly social club with members acting as our best marketing for new membereships. Racque Club has always had a strong waitlist and and current potential for new applicants is 2-3 years.

Racquet Club is a family frienly location that centers around creating a place where friends socialize and enjoy the summer months relaxing. We also provide lots of events and activites that members enjoy during the season as well as pre and post season events.

Club is open 7 days per week, 4 months per year.

Brief Job Description

The Racquet Club seeks an exceptional candidate to direct our food and beverage program. This leadership position may require one or more persons to effectively manage day to day operations, special events and private events. The primary menu should focus mostly on quick service items primarly appealing to children and teens. The season is divided around our swim program with lunch and dinner style items all season and breakfast only during the swim team season. We are open 7 days per week during the summer and host buffet style events for holidays. Food is prepared in a conditioned facility that has limited indoor cooking, but large commercial grills and other cooking outdoors. It is a truely unique environment with many new amenities.

Candidate Qualifications

The Racquet Club Food and Beverage program seeks candidates that are skilled in food service management with professional and hands on training. You should be intersted in both the causual as well as more complex menus that can be exectuted with consistency in quality.

The skills requirered would include:

  • Strong knowlege of health department requirments
  • Proper certifications in ServSafe and Itip
  • Undertanding and development of SOP
  • Hiring and training of all F&B staff
  • Knowledge of products, ordering a stock
  • Experience with Point of Sales systems
  • Ability to develop and work within a budget
  • Creative menu planning
  • Working with existing staff to create a cohesive food service plan
  • Interest in developing seasonal menu interests, inlcuding pairings and knowledge of wine and beer
