The Country Club of Virginia is one of the oldest and finest private, member-owned clubs and has been consistently ranked among America’s “Platinum” country clubs by the Club Leaders Forum. Located in Richmond, CCV was organized in 1908, and continues to be one of the nation’s largest full-service country clubs. The Club’s 7,600+ members support 1,111 acres containing two beautiful clubhouses situated seven miles apart, 54 holes of golf, racquet sports, fitness, and aquatics. In season, CCV employs a staff of more than 600, and the annual budget exceeds $30 million.

Brief Job Description
The Program
Interns will gain exposure to a large and diverse food and beverage operation, with hands-on experience and training and mentorship opportunities. Students will spend the majority of their time in the Poolside Café, the Grill Terrace, and the Banquet department, learning from the most active areas at CCV during the summer months. Interns can expect the following:
• Hands-on experience in multiple departments
• A mentor from the Club’s Senior Management Team
• Exposure to Club governance by attending select Committee Meetings
• Supervisory responsibilities in large and diverse outlets
• Experiences that can only be gained at one of the largest private clubs in the country
• Relationships that will extend beyond the summer
• Benchmarking trips to other area clubs
• Leadership exposure by leading a major department project
• Formal performance review
• Possible invitation to return in the fall and help with the annual PGA tournament
• Team outings
Candidate Qualifications
Enthusiastic and motivated college students pursuing a degree related to Hospitality with a desire to learn and grow

Housing
Furnished apartments (single-gender) near the Club are available and are located close to shopping, restaurants, etc. Each intern will be responsible for a refundable $100 security deposit and a $150 rental fee per bi-weekly pay period. The rental fee includes major utilities, but cable, telephone, and internet service are the responsibility of the interns.
Other Benefits
Interns will be supplied uniforms, lunch and/or dinner during shifts, and educational opportunities.
