Special Club Features
Spring Lake Golf Club is a family-orientaed golf club less than a mile from beautiful beaches. The club has its peak months May through October. In addition to an amazing golf course members enjoy freshly rennovated a la carte dinning facilities and banquet area as well as a wide range of special events throughout the year.

Food and Beverage: Front of the House:
In this department, interns will work closely with a manager, learning how to manage the floor during both the lunch and dinner shifts, observing the process of making a schedule and processing payroll, attending weekly management meetings, accompanying management in interviewing prospective staff, and learning the full operations of a la carte through serving, bartending and hosting.
Food and Beverage: Back of the House
Within this department, interns are given the opportunity to work with Executive Chef Brendan Arenth. Chef Brendan, as well as his Sous Chef and culinary team, will teach you the understanding of the daily operations of the kitchen. In addition, students will learn about menu design, costing, purchasing, expediting, staff training and overall kitchen management.
Banquets and Events
In the Banquet Department, interns will learn the daily operations and responsibilities of the Special Events Director. They will assist in booking events for the Club, filling out function sheets that detail the entire event and the billing process. Interns will also be given the opportunity to manage an event ensuring that food, beverages, decorations, seating and staffing are all in order to run a smooth function.
The Professional Shop
During the Pro Shop’s part of this rotation, Interns will learn how to schedule tee times and manage walk on days. Interns will assist members in the professional shop, learn the process of cash sales, restock shelves after sales, , and review upcoming tournaments and other activities being held at the club. In this department Interns will also obtain knowledge in inventory, ordering, and receiving shipments. Additionally, you will be able to learn the flow and tour of the golf course. You will be able to play as well.
Grounds Department
While working in the Grounds Department, interns will be participating in the upkeep of the landscaping and grounds at SLGC. You will work with the Golf Course Superintendent and his staff helping them with their daily tasks. Interns will obtain knowledge of the different equipment and techniques used to maintain the golf course, plants and shrubbery. From time to time, Interns will be able to aid with the upkeep of the golf course.
