Special Club Features

Valley Lo Club isn't your average private country club. We are indeed a Private club - members must pay an initiation fee and monthly dues to belong. However, we're not considered a golf club. Much more than that - we are viewed as a resort by our members, featuring a variety of activities, including paddle tennis, golf (par 3 course), brand new health club, beach (sand - chaise lounges, etc.), adult sundeck, and a camp! We offer many club events including Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day. Our membership is family-oriented, looking to have a good time with their kids and good friends. In addition, we offer world-class dining, including our ala carte restaurant and in the summer, our fast-casual outlet - the beach cafe. The beach cafe is where we are looking to staff.

Club is open 6 days per week, 12 months per year.

Brief Job Description

Valley Lo Club is seeking Beach Cafe Supervisors to work at our fast casual outlet during the summer months.  This is an internship opportunity (Level 2) but not necessary.  We are seeking somebody that will bring with them restaurant experience (1 year) in either a fast casual or full service operation. 

The following are details PERTAINING to our Beach Cafe Supervisors position.

  • Responsible for Day to Day operations - taking care of our members that dine with us at the cafe (food service), are enjoying the beach (cocktail service), or attend our adult sun-deck (food & cocktail service)
  • Managing associates - we staff 10-15 associates each summer
  • Scheduling
  • Inventory - day to day basis for restocking purposes
  • Open Tuesday through Sunday (MUST WORK ALL 6 DAYS/WEEK)
  • Shifts include either 10-3:30 or 2:30-8 (5 1/2 hours)
  • Memorial Day, July 3 & 4, Labor Day are mandatory workdays
  • Uniform includes shorts (or cotton pants), slip-free shoes, and a collared, lightweight polo shirt (we provide).
  • We serve quick-service items (which are retrieved from the cafe) and regular service items (that are run from the kitchen). Examples of the items available are chicken tenders, soft-serve ice cream, pretzels, pizza, veggies & hummus, salads, paninis, and more.
  • We offer housing at no additional cost.

In summary, this is a great opportunity for someone looking to gain management/supervisory experience. We have other opportunities that may be available after the grill closes in September.

Candidate Qualifications

  • Restaurant Experience (1 Year)
  • Ability to work 6 days/week (No Mondays)
  • Ability to work holidays 
  • Hospitality majors desired but not required
  • Desire to work in a fast paced environment, interacting on a regular basis and having fun
