Special Club Features

In 2018 the Connestee Falls POA commenced with a major interior renovation of the 26,000 square foot Overlook Clubhouse. The approximate $2.5 million project totally modernized the entire building from top to bottom.

Pay Range: $17-$20 p/hr + $500 Sign On Bonus

General Statement of Duties:

Connestee Falls Property Owners Association (CFPOA) is a semi-private members club located in Brevard, NC with over 3,900 acres of private property. Our Liaison to Architecture and Environmental Committee position acts as liaison between the Architecture and Environmental Committee (A&EC) and the residents/members to ensure that permits submitted for construction and exterior and landscaping property improvements are thoroughly reviewed and ensures that property improvements are in compliance with the Association’s Governing Documents before work is commenced. This position supports the Architecture and Environmental Committee (A&EC) by conducting follow-up inquiries with members, coordinates meeting with A&EC and member seeking approval, conducts walk throughs, provides a detailed report of findings to A&EC and responds to member complaints.

Essential Duties:

  • Reviews permit applications and site plan submitted by members for new home construction, addition to an existing home, replacing or repairing of roof, paving of driveway, building a dock, painting of exterior, erecting a fence, installing exterior lights, cutting or trimming of vegetation or other project that affects the appearance of the home or residential lot to ensure accuracy completion and compliance with the Association’s Governing documents.
  • Provides guidance to members on the permit application process and educates members on the Association’s rules and regulations.
  • Responds to inquiries and member complaints regarding possible violations of the Association’s rules and regulations such as use of unauthorized signs, visible fuel storage tanks, noise complaints, unpermitted work, noxious, offensive or illegal activities.
  • Conducts onsite walk throughs of residential lots to verify accuracy of permit and to ensure completion of project is in accordance with the Association’s rules and regulations.
  • Gathers necessary information and takes photographs of residential lot and project to assist with permit application approval process.
  • Coordinates weekly meeting with A&EC and members to review permit application and informs member of outcome.
  • Identifies violations of lot use prohibitions and compliance with community standards.
  • Notifies the member of compliance requirements and procedures and when necessary, recommends enforcement action to the General Manager.
  • Notified property owners and ensures corrective action is taken and/or a violation is issued.
  • Ensures that all actions are property documented.
  • Maintains and secures appropriate records.
  • Attends Judicial Committee Hearings and provides testimony in support of violations issued as a result of property lot owner violations.
  • Files complaints with CFPOA’s security, when appropriate.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of all Association Governing Documents.
  • Other duties as assigned by General Manager.

Work Schedule:
Part-time weekly shift averages 20 + hours a week and may exceed 40 hours during peak permit season. Work schedule is Monday thru Friday and shift typically begins at 8:00 am and ends by 4 pm.

Candidate Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age due to driving and insurance requirements.
  • Must possess a valid state of NC driver’s license.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Must have recent experience in construction, code enforcement, engineering or related field.
  • Must have knowledge of building procedures, code enforcement and water drainage management and control.
  • Must be able to handle controversial situations with members in a tactful but fair, firm and consistent manner.
  • Must demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction within the company, staff, community members and outside vendors.
  • Must have strong presentation skills.
  • Must be friendly and possess a service-oriented attitude when working with the company, staff, community members and outside vendors.
  • Must be able to work well in a team environment and treat them with dignity and respect.
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Must be able to read, analyze and interpret instructions, guidelines and/or communications and respond accordingly.
  • Must be dependable and reliable.
  • Must be PC literate, including MS Office products (Outlook, Word, Powerpoint, Excel).

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to perform physical labor requiring continual and repetitive use of large motor skills to stand, walk, sit, bend, stoop, crawl, crouch, shovel, push, pull, twist, turn, stretch, reach, and continual and repetitive use of fine motor skills and manual dexterity.
  • Must be able to maintain balance, work safely on steep slopes with elevation of 2,800 feet.
  • Must be able to work around equipment that generates noise, vibration and heat.
  • Must be able to hear, see, taste, touch and smell. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to distinguish colors and different shades of color.
  • Must be able to comply with safety and health requirements.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions including seasonally hot or cold temperature and in inclement weather.
  • Must be able to drive car.
