The CMAA ClubCareers Services Center, available to all World Conference and Club Business Expo attendees, provides the opportunity to gain valuable job search and employee placement assistance on-site and free-of-charge. There will be complimentary programs and services that include:

Résumé Critiquing: Conference attendees may schedule an appointment to have a résumé reviewed and proofread by an unbiased eye. Schedule your session today.
Job Boards: The CMAA Career Services Center features job boards listing current, vacant positions. All levels of positions will be posted, from General Manager/COO to internships. Managers, club boards, search committees, and search firms can submit listings that will be posted in Nashville*, free of charge, for all Conference attendees to view. Whether you are actively looking for employment or just keeping an eye on industry trends, make sure you bring extra copies of your résumé to Conference.

*You may email the jobs to Karen Woodie or bring them with you to Nashville.

Coaching Sessions: This effective way to learn and make significant changes to attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors will be available via coaching sessions. These sessions will be helpful for those who are interested in adopting coaching into their management style or those experiencing a difficult or transitional time. These 45-minute complimentary sessions can be scheduled online before or during Conference and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Career Opportunity Showcase: Are you looking to fill internship and entry level positions at your club? Join us at the Career Opportunities and Mentoring Showcase. Managers interested in participating may sign up for no cost and earn one Association Activity credit.
If you are interested in securing a reserved table space at the Career Showcase, you may do so for a $50 fee. This opportunity is limited to the first 30 clubs that sign up. Complete the participation form to confirm your participation and then secure your reserved space here.

Chapter Management Resources

All Officers:
If you have not already done so, please submit your 2019 Chapter Officers/ Chairman Report.

Managing Directors: Thank you for following up with members who have yet to renew their 2019 national memberships. Those who did not renew will be dropped from the National Roster very soon. Please remind members that they are able to automatically reinstate their membership simply by paying their 2019 dues.

Career Services Chairman: Be sure to pass along to your chapter that there are four job boards, including the Entry-Level Opportunities board. Members say it is hardest to keep hourly wage employees, so use this free of charge board to help get the word out about club opportunities. A time saving feature on all of CMAA's job boards: the club details are saved and can pre-populate that portion of your job form, saving you time and money. Go here to Post a Job.

The Club Foundation Liaison: For 2019 World Conference in Nashville, The Club Foundation will be hosting a boot auction! Yes, boots as in cowboy boots. We will auction off pairs of cowboy boots and have them available at “buy it now” prices so that members can buy and wear for the networking event and throughout conference. We’d like to ask each Chapter to donate one or more pairs of boots for the auction. The best place to purchase the boots is through Zappos as they have a 365-day return policy so that if someone buys the boots but the size isn’t right, the winner will have a year to exchange for the correct size. Additionally, Zappos has a tremendous selection in many price points from the uber-luxe Lucchese boots to Roper and Dingo brands – really something for everyone.

Women’s Boots

Please consider buying a pair of boots and donating them to The Club Foundation auction. You can either mail the boots directly to us or bring them to Nashville. If you’re going to mail them, please have them arrive no later than February 1 and send them to:

Carrie Wosicki
1733 King Street
Alexandria, VA  22314

Please fill out the auction donation form so that we can give your Chapter credit. Please contact Carrie Wosicki at 703-299-4383 with any questions.

Communication Chairman: We want to hear your Chapter’s Good News. Add to your email distribution list for Chapter newsletters, email blasts, and press releases. Your Chapter could be featured in an upcoming Chapter Digest, Club Management magazine, Outlook, or via social media.

Legislative Chairman: On December 11, 2018, the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of the Army proposed a revised definition of the waters of the United States that clarifies federal authority under the Clean Water Act. The proposed rule is designed to provide clarity, predictability, and consistency so that the regulated community can easily understand where the Clean Water Act applies—and where it does not.

This is step two of the two-step process to repeal and replace the 2015 WOTUS rule that dramatically expanded federal jurisdiction over waters and wet areas in the US, including most water bodies on golf courses. Read more in the Legislative Report.

Membership Chairman: Let’s start the 2019 recruitment year off right! All new and rejoining members pay $500 for their first year of national dues. The dues structure along with other useful information can be found at

Professional Development Chairman: The 2019 World Conference on Club Management will feature more than 75 education sessions. Each year, the Education Department relies on the kindness of volunteers to introduce the session speakers. Please encourage your chapter members to volunteer to introduce speakers. The process is simple. First, ask your members to visit the Volunteer Page and look for the sessions that they are planning on attending. If they see a session that they would like to introduce, they just need to click on the “click here to reserve” link and enter their information. They will be sent a confirmation email with the session date, time, and room location listed. Once in Nashville, they will just stop by the Member Services Pavilion prior to the session and a member of the Education Department team will give them the introduction text. Each introduction takes about three minutes. Please feel free to contact David McCabe if you have any questions. Thank you in advance to those who volunteer to introduce speakers.

Research: Is your chapter looking to book chapter education for 2019? Are data analytics and CMAA Research areas of interest? If so, contact Sarah Bal or Nichole Rhodes to book a co-presentation between CMAA and Global Golf Advisors (GGA) on the topic of business intelligence and data-driven decision making. Our goal is to connect the dots between CMAA’s research initiatives, the resources available to clubs in the Club Resource Center, and the next-level analytical tools available to assist in club operations through GGA’s Strategic Intelligence.

Student Chapter Liaison: It’s time again to start working with your student chapters on Student Chapter of the Year entries.

The Student Chapter of the Year entry form, judge’s score sheet, and chapter size category information can all be found at

The winning student chapter in each size category will receive a $1,000 Conference Registration grant from The Club Foundation. All entries are due back to National Headquarters no later than Friday, January 25, 2019; late entries will not be accepted.
