Americans with Disabilities Act and Accessibility Issues
Originally enacted in 1990, the ADA was updated, specifically Titles II and III, including the ADA Standards for Accessible Design. These changes specifically address recreational facilities and include specific requirements for recreational boating facilities; exercise machines and equipment; golf facilities; swimming pools, wading pools and spas; and saunas and steam rooms. more... Music Licensing
Most clubs play music in their establishment for the enjoyment of their members. In the case of recorded music, the performance rights generally are owned by either the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP); Broadcast Music Incorporated (BMI); or SESAC, Inc. As such, clubs must obtain a licensing fee to obtain the legal permission required to perform copyrighted music under the U.S. Copyright Law. more...
Motion Picture Licensing
The Federal Copyright Act stipulates that copyrighted motion pictures and other audiovisual programs that are available for rental or purchase, such as DVDs or other digital formats (videos), are intended for personal, private use only. Showing videos in a child care program, at a private club or outdoors on a golf course is considered a "public performance" and requires a license.

OSHA
In September of 2003, CMAA
signed an Alliance with OSHA to promote safe and healthful working
conditions for membership club employees. In February of 2005, CMAA
renewed its Alliance and added a new scope of concentration, landscaping
