Take Your CCM Exam with a Proctor
Managers who are eligible to take the CCM exam may make arrangements to have an exam proctored at a local college or university. Most schools have a testing center or an office of continuing education at which the exam can be administered. Once you have selected a college or university to proctor the exam, you must submit a Certification Exam Registration form along with the exam fee of $195 ($150 if you are retaking the exam) to CMAA’s Education Department. Upon receipt of your exam registration form, we will then contact the college or university to confirm your appointment and plan to have the instructions for proctoring the exam forwarded to the university.

CMAA-proctored exams are available four times a year on select dates.  Contact Brian Watkins, Manager of Certification and Education, at 703-739-9500 with any questions.

CMAA University – A Member Benefit That Can Help You Attain or Maintain Your CCM
Don’t forget that as a CMAA Professional or Alumnus member, you receive complimentary access to CMAA University. With this access comes approximately 70 complimentary credits available on the system all accessible from under “My Certifications,” “Complimentary Credits” as well as an Archived Webinar library dating back to early 2013. Managers can also purchase access to Certificate Programs, the Manager In Development Program, or past Conference education session recordings. All this and more is available by signing in to CMAA University. If you do not remember your login credentials or have not accessed CMAA University in the past six months, email cmaauniversity@cmaa.org to reactivate your account.

How to Get on the BMI Waitlist
Do you want to attend a Business Management Institute (BMI) but it’s full? Are you interested in being placed on a waitlist? CMAA has a new policy regarding waitlists. To be placed on a waitlist for a BMI program, you must register for one of the future offerings of the course. Notify CMAA that you have registered for a specific course but would like to be placed on the waitlist for one of the earlier courses. If an opening occurs in your desired course and your place on the list comes up, CMAA will contact you to see if you are able to attend the earlier course. If you are able to attend, your registration and payment will be transferred to the new course.

Keep in mind that you are not required to attend the BMI courses in any particular order. If the course that you are interested in attending is full and you don’t want to be placed on the waitlist, consider registering for one of the other open courses.

“I Moved to a New Chapter — Now What?”
If you have recently changed clubs or have an upcoming move in your future, you might find yourself within new chapter boundaries. Because CMAA membership is dual and simultaneous with your respective (geographically determined) chapter and CMAA National, it is necessary for you to transfer chapters. How is this done? CMAA has all the answers you will need.

Transferring chapters is simple:

Go to the Document Central section of the CMAA website and select the “Chapter Info” category in the dropdown box. The “Chapter Transfer Request” form can be found there. Click on the form and complete it in its entirety.

Send the form to the managing director or secretary of the chapter to which you are transferring. If you are unsure who this person is, call National Headquarters or visit the CMAA online member directory. Simply log in using your username and password click on the “Senior Chapters” link and then select the chapter for which you are looking.

The chapter’s managing director or secretary will then get you set up with the chapter and will verify this by signing the bottom of the Chapter Transfer Request Form. He or she will then send the form to National Headquarters and to your previous chapter’s managing director or chapter secretary.

If you have been, or are about to be, on the move, don’t let us lose you! Tell us where you are going so that you will not only continue to receive all of CMAA’s benefits and resources, but you can also be welcomed to your new chapter and be able to take advantage of all of your local educational and social happenings.

Pay It Forward to The Club Foundation to Celebrate 30 Years
New CF LogoWhat stands between many club management professionals and achieving their professional development goals?

Lack of resources, support by their club, and the encouragement of a mentor.

Thirty years ago, The Club Foundation was created to support club management professionals who lacked this important support.

The Club Foundation is shaping the future of the industry by providing grants and scholarships for up and coming students, early and mid-career club managers seeking their certification, and tenured professionals who want to give back.

In honor of our 30th anniversary, please consider a gift of $30 to support The Club Foundation as we celebrate 30 years of paying it forward.
