Chapter Idea Fair
Bringing World Conference to NJCMA
New Jersey Chapter
Entry Details
Kevin Brown’s inspiring message at World Conference sparked tremendous energy among our members. Rather than letting that inspiration fade, NJCMA acted immediately by bringing Kevin directly to our chapter as part of our education calendar. This created a shared experience that allowed members who attended the conference—and those who could not—to benefit from the same high-impact message. The result was more than just inspiration. It transformed into action, giving our members practical tools and a renewed mindset to apply directly in their clubs. By translating a national conference takeaway into a local program, our chapter ensured the message had lasting impact and reached a broader audience. This approach has enhanced NJCMA by strengthening engagement, fostering alignment around key leadership principles, and demonstrating the value of turning ideas into tangible experiences. It also shows how transferable the idea is: any chapter can harness the energy of World Conference by bringing speakers, themes, or best practices home for members to experience together. This model turns conference inspiration into actionable, local impact—one of the most valued benefits of chapter membership.
Implementation
This idea was implemented by capturing the momentum of World Conference and acting on it immediately. Inspired by Kevin Brown’s powerful keynote, NJCMA invited him directly to our chapter as part of our education calendar. This approach allowed members to experience the same impactful message locally, whether or not they were able to attend the national conference. By blending national inspiration with local delivery, the Education Committee created a program that was both relevant and accessible. The general reaction from members has been overwhelmingly positive. The session drew the highest attendance we have ever had for an education program, a clear indication of the excitement and value members placed on the opportunity. Attendees valued the opportunity to hear from a nationally recognized speaker in a more personal, chapter-focused setting. Many expressed appreciation that NJCMA didn’t just share conference highlights secondhand, but instead brought the message home in a way that encouraged action and application. The session was described as energizing, practical, and memorable, and it reinforced members’ sense of connection to both the broader CMAA community and their local chapter.
