Chapter Idea Fair

Career in Transition

Florida Chapter

Entry Details

FLCMAA Career in Transition ensures that when a member’s role changes, their connection to the chapter does not.

Careers can be disrupted by leadership changes, restructuring, shifting priorities, cultural misalignment, or circumstances unrelated to professional ability. Too often, capable professionals navigate that disruption quietly and become disconnected from the very relationships that could help them move forward.

FLCMAA created a confidential support system combining personalized career assistance, trusted transition advisors, professional positioning, mentoring connections, chapter access, and a centralized online resource hub. Eligible members may also receive up to $1,500 toward registration for one FLCMAA Summer Conference, helping them remain visible, engaged, and connected during transition.

The program treats career transition as a professional reality, not a personal failure. It helps members rebuild confidence, preserve relationships, and reaffirm the experience and value they bring to the club community.

Implementation

FLCMAA established a confidential intake process and recruited respected industry advisors with more than 100 years of combined experience. Participating members receive individualized support based on their needs, including résumé and portfolio guidance, interview preparation, professional positioning, networking introductions, mentoring, and continued access to chapter education and events.

A dedicated webpage provides members with a single, clear starting point for FLCMAA assistance and CMAA National career resources. Outcomes are measured only in aggregate to protect confidentiality and dignity.

Since November 2025, the program has supported 21 members. Nine entered the full-service program, seven of whom secured new roles, while 12 additional members received assistance through mentoring and professional connections.

Member reaction confirms that the program’s value extends beyond finding another position. Participants have emphasized that FLCMAA helped them remain connected, regain momentum, and feel recognized and supported during an uncertain period.
