Carolinas Summer Conference: An Opportunity to Invest in the Next Generation

This enhances our chapter by:
- Showing our spirit of generosity and desire to develop and mentor then next generation of club leaders
- It builds connections between students, MIDS & established members of our chapter
- It enhances the participation and engagement at our event
- Strengthens the student-to-professional pipeline - hopefully some of which will remain in the Carolinas Chapter
- It encourages early and continued CMAA engagement

Our investment in students and young professionals today helps build engaged CMAA members in the future.

Implementation

The Chapter invited students and MIDS to attend Summer Conference complimentary, removing the financial barrier and giving them full access to Chapter education and networking opportunities.

Invitations were shared with all clubs within the chapter, and those with student interns and MIDS were encouraged to bring them along and to take advantage of the opportunity to experience a Chapter conference firsthand. Once onsite, they were intentionally welcomed and introduced to established members, creating opportunities to build relationships across career stages.

By including students and MIDS as active conference participants, we hope we shared with them, the opportunity to learn, connect, and experience the value of CMAA membership early in their careers.

Our chapter members have really enjoyed having the students with us for Summer Conference and our clubs who have internship programs welcome the opportunity to bring their students to experience chapter programming and feel the warm welcome of the Carolinas Chapter community.
