Emerging Leaders Coffee Meet-Ups

The Carolinas Chapter created casual, regional Coffee Meet-Ups to give Emerging Leaders an easy way to connect with peers, grow their CMAA network, and build a stronger sense of belonging within the Chapter.

The impact and enhancement to the chapter through this community of members is authentic connection and sense of community, it creates a natural pathway to greater Chapter involvement and members and future leaders who stay in touch between these meet ups.

Implementation

Our Emerging Leaders chair organized these casual meet-ups at a local coffee shop, keeping the format intentionally simple and easy to replicate. A date and location were selected, nearby Emerging Leaders were invited, and the Chapter promoted the gathering through its communication channels.

There is no formal agenda or education component—just an opportunity to grab coffee, connect with peers, share experiences, and build relationships outside of larger Chapter events. The connections continue between meet-ups through group chats and informal communication, helping turn a simple coffee gathering into an ongoing Emerging Leaders community.
