Entry Details
The Florida Chapter’s Emerging Leaders initiative expands on our former Young Professionals group to create a vibrant community for early-career and mid-level managers. It enhances the chapter by providing greater focus and opportunity for Emerging Leaders to broaden their networks and access alternative continuing education in the CMAA core competencies, all at no additional cost. Through curated programming, mentorship, and signature events like the Summer Club Tour, the initiative equips rising professionals to grow, connect, and lead.
Implementation
The FLCMAA Emerging Leaders initiative was implemented organically, beginning with a small group of energized and highly engaged club professionals who came together to design the structure, initial programming, and event formats. What started as grassroots energy quickly gained traction, with strong support from both the Board and the membership at large. Recognizing its value, the chapter now allocates dedicated funding for Emerging Leaders programming in the annual budget. The response from members has been overwhelmingly positive, many have stepped forward eager to participate, contribute, and mentor. This enthusiasm has created a culture where entry- and mid-level managers feel empowered and supported, while seasoned leaders embrace opportunities to connect through panels, mentorship, and reverse mentorship. The initiative has not only taken root but has become a point of pride for the chapter, strengthening connections and engagement across all levels of membership.
