FLCMAA WICM Personal Leadership Summit

The FLCMAA Women in Club Management Personal Leadership Summit created a statewide experience where women across clubs, roles, regions, and career stages could learn from relatable leaders and build meaningful professional relationships.

The program was intentionally designed as more than a traditional speaker event. Sessions explored authentic leadership, personal brand, and sustainable well-being, while facilitated conversations helped participants connect those lessons to their own careers. When women see someone they can relate to succeeding in a role they aspire to, the path forward becomes more visible and attainable.

The inaugural Summit brought together 80 women representing 28 clubs and every FLCMAA region. It strengthened the chapter’s year-round WICM community by creating new peer relationships, mentoring connections, and a stronger sense of belonging among women throughout Florida’s club industry.

Implementation

FLCMAA selected three dimensions of personal leadership with direct professional relevance and invited accomplished women whose experiences and career paths participants could relate to. Each expert-led session was paired with facilitated conversation, including questions designed to invite honest reflection and shared experience.

Participants were intentionally brought together across clubs, roles, and career stages. This allowed them to move beyond passive learning, exchange perspectives, identify common challenges, and begin relationships that could continue through FLCMAA’s webinars, statewide gatherings, peer connections, and mentoring opportunities.

Member reaction emphasized the authenticity of the conversations, the value of hearing relatable leadership journeys, and the opportunity to bring teammates into the experience. The Summit demonstrated that representation creates possibility, but purposeful conversation is what turns that possibility into connection, mentorship, and professional movement.
